Well, it's just good to know that when the chips are down and things look grim you'll feed off the girl who loves you to save your own ass!

Sox, did you see this: [link]

Time for I to visit her cousins in Culver City!

Smart people can be stupid too

(trying out normal-everyday post-delurking type posting, lets see if it works!)

Hurray for cute costumed-kiddies! I work at the after school program of a prep school, so work today is going to be an adorable parade of costumes (and a bit of a headache trying to make sure no one ruins their costume out on the playground, but mostly lots of fun!).

I will be dressed as a black cat because I was informed yesterday that we (the teachers) must dress within a theme (the theme is witches, maybe I'm just stubborn but everyone dressing as witches seems too restrictive to me... black cat it is). I have to admit that I kinda wish I had Em's costume, it sounds way cooler than mine!

ETA anti-mono/strep ~ma for Kristin!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Well, witches can transform themselves into animals, especially cats, so I say you're set.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I am not dressed up, and I don't think anyone else is here either... there is no magic in the hearts of those at this giant Research U.

Our wings are not tired.

I didn't dress for work. If I was going out of the office today I probably would have.

Also, Helena! Go you with the postyness!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm wearing everyday black trousers and a purple sweater. But I also have a wonderful black witch's hat on my desk, with ribbons, feathers, and a couple of purple silk flowers.

Supposedly people in the office will bring their kids around for candy this afternoon. We'll see if my candy dish (currently filled with Dove dark chocolate singles, Ghiradelli dark chocolate squares with mint filling, and old school Hershey's milk chocolate bars) has anything left in it by then.

No one dresses up here, but they do allow time for people to bring their kids in. I thought about bringing the baby and then decided that I didn't want all those people breathing on her with so much flu around. We have the option of dressing her up as a bunny or an ear of corn tomorrow.

Thanks tommyrot, that was precisely my argument! (y'know, made to myself... 'cause no one would actually challenge me on this anywhere except in my imagination).

I'm loving reading about peoples halloweeny outfits (and hope that the absence of magic is not accompanied by an absence of candy, Nora. That's just be cruel!)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Sox, I don't have permission to view your picture. Pout.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Y'all, the Bible conversation is gold. And, brenda, the added "put it in the freezer" is perfect! I used that phrase a lot and get funny looks from people.

Helena, nice delurking!!

My school has no magic in its heart. We barely acknowledge Halloween. No costumes, treats, decorations, nada. Being the drama teacher, however, I have taken it upon myself to give the day a nod. I'm wearing all my normal clothes...and a fake mustache. That's it. Just the mustache. Needed to be done.

Oh, and showing "Fear Itself" all day.
