Cindy! Great news! I'm so happy for you.
And. ION.
Who, exactly, thought it was a good idea to invent mornings? I wanna sleep!
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The h1N1 flu is early . In CA the flu season usually hits in Jan. It is possible that H1N1 will be followed by the other strain.
I've never had the flu. I never worried about getting sick with diabetes -- that is a disease that made me behave in healthier ways. But now that I have added asthma to the mix, I get it. Even when there is a chance that they don't have it right.
That was my long winded way of saying, get the sesonal flu shot if you are going to be around lots of people , or might bring it to someone that might be more than just sick
But as long as you are willing to stay home if you are ill ( 2 to 10 days , it just depends ) the risk is minimal.
snuggles with Shir in the mornings are evil corner
skipping 200 posts (because i am exhausted) to let anyone/everyone know that we closed on the house, i got keys last night, picked up my dad at the airport this morning, and started with some light demotion this afternoon. I am only flailing mildly, which i expect is entirely due to my dad being in town (staying in a motel - ironic when i have BOTH and house and an apartment right now...but neither are places he wants to sleep tonight) and getting lots of good advice from a carpenter friend. the cats have not yet realized how much their lives are going to suck in a couple of weeks and that is really all for the best.
Wallybee and I just got vaccinated for H1N1. We're currently hanging around the doctor's office waiting to see if either of us are going to keel over.
We actually had the appointment for Ryan's 6 month vaccinations, and were caught up in feelings of solidarity with the poor little man. We are now a needled up family.
Yay for the good news, Cindy.
As for the flu shot, my personal experience would seem to contradict the claim that they are only providing vaccinations to high risk groups. I got the feeling they wanted to give out as many vaccinations as possible.
I think it depends largely on municipality.
I got the regular flu shot a couple of weeks ago (the school provides them for us), but they won't have H1N1 for another month.
whee. a run to the er vet. Happily, it looks like andy cat ate something that disagreed with him
Cindy, that's fantastic news.
Beth, I hope Andy Cat feels better soon. Poor thing.
I am in a wibbly wobbly world of research and social worker visits today. I could probably combine the two somehow. Social worker might be nicer to me if she thinks I'm writing a paper on her.

Seska: [looks at social worker (SW) and makes a careful note.]
SW: Watcha doing?
Seska: Research. For . . . a paper.
You don't actually have to tell SW the topic, do you?
That said, SW should be nice to you regardless.
