Kid (seriously): And here's another rocket, to take you up to the next line, and this is the square with the skeleton monkeys.

Me (nodding sagely): ....ah yes, those well-known Skeleton Monkeys, lying await for unwary travellers through the solar system.

Dear Mom, you have been bitching about this problem for three months. You say that you made a promise and you've dropped a bunch of hints to the person that you didn't want to keep the promise and they're not getting the hint. Now, you are bitching to me about being forced to spend money that you don't want to. Either accept it and stop bitching or don't do it.

Surprisingly well.

Remember a few months ago I was filling in renewal forms for my Disability Living Allowance (a non-work-related benefit that's a bugger to qualify for, even if you have done before)?

I got the highest rates. For five years.

I attempted to dance around the living room, and fell over. Seemed appropriate.

Hee. Sorry, I should have been clearer for non-Brits and not used acronmys. It's a very, very good thing. Five years free from having to fill in those evil evil forms, and knowing that I have the means to pay for my PCA etc, is an amazing relief.

Eh, there's only so much you can say in a tweet, so no worries -- I just saw "higher rates" and said, "yay! unless it's, like, loan rates or something..."

Great! Of course, I haven't done any work yet...

I am SO EXCITED for my Halloween costume and amyth's Twin Peaks party. I have all the elements, including jewelry and makeup, and KBD is not only coming but is dressing up! Now if I can just talk my sis into coming, my evil plans will be complete.

For those of you playing along on FB, my iPhone is charging and appears to be okay. Phew! Not sure why it drained so fast, but I'm not going to worry about it for the moment.
