Kaylee: Is that him? Mal: That's the buffet table. Kaylee: Well how can we be sure, unless we question it?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Our wings are not tired.

Aww, happy birthday to the Diva. I don't think DH could have survived having a daughter.

I was reading some more stuff on his website but I couldn't bring myself to read the testimonials.

My right hand person never met a conspiracy theory she didn't love, and believe. It takes a huge amount of effort to not smack her on a regular basis. But she is otherwise brilliant and a wonderful employee. Sigh. We just can't talk about anything but work.

Yay Erin with the new house! House projects are never ending, but also very rewarding. I'm looking forward to watching the transformation.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Jilli, I feel your tights woe, for those are truly glorious and it is only right that you should have them.

erin, congrats on your house. I'm so happy for you!

Happy Birthday to the not-so-little diva!

KBD made us brunch and I am now slounging on the balcony with coffee.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Omg! I caught up! Too much to Meara. Tons of hair pats and high fives.

Yay Jilli on job! Also Erin on home ownership. Pix are you feeling better?

Grand opening of the new performing arts center went well. Load in of our first show in the new theater was not smooth. Fighting the installed wiring and poor design choices. But tonight is first audience and the show sounds ok. Will report more later.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Ugh. Long day. I'm enjoying my part-time course, but we had a Saturday school for it today, and what a waste of five hours. We watched a video for an hour, discussed our essays in groups for two hours, and finally got round to some real work from about 3 till 5. You could tell the teacher didn't want to be there. (It occurs to me that, having been a teacher, I will never be a non-critical student again.)

Seska, I saw this and thought of you: [link]

Heh. I may have to do that. (I'm already trying, but I got stuck on too many syllables. Given that 'disability' and 'physiotherapy' are my two key concepts.)

Yay for Erin's new house!

omnis, do you work or perform at the arts centre in question? Glad to hear the grand opening went well, regardless!

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

As sort of an asterisk to the disability discussion, Teresa Nielsen Hayden posts her experience of turning invisible. Her combination of being disabled, female and middle aged gave her the magic power of Home Depot employees being unable to see or hear her, no matter how close she stood to them or how loudly she asked for help finding an item. "We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Heh. Good article. I know that experience. The walking aid comes out and the power of invisibility takes over.

About to spoil my diet entirely by ordering Indian food for dinner. I've been so good this week that it's high time I ruined it. I blame it on... let's think... the clocks going back tonight. Yes. That.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Congratulations on the new house, Erin! I love the fenced in yard area with the roses. And the covered porch near the front door looks lovely, too.

For those waiting with bated breath, I did in fact go purse shopping today (with bonus Amyth), to both TJMaxx and Marshall's. Sadly, they didn't have anything quite like what I was looking for. So when I got back home I went back to zappos and ordered this one. [link]

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I've been trying to find what is apparently the Holy Grail of tights. Patterned, brown (a lighter brown rather than a super dark one), in a plus size.

I have seen so many awesome tights that are not made in my side. It's depressing. I guess I will be buying Spanx.

“Not dead yet!”

OMG, my house smells so good right now. Abby requested "lots of chocolate" for her birthday, so I'm making a butter fudge chocolate cake (to which I've added dark chocolate chips) with triple fudge chip icing. Then there are going to be marshmallows between the layers.

Then... the decorations, oh my! Sugar roses, pink frosting, star-shaped sprinkles, more sprinkles and the gaudiest candles ever.

Subtle, she ain't.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Your daughter she is, though.
