Erin, I think it's slightly larger than the bathroom at our old house. But only slightly. (Mostly, it's just a much better layout than Old Bathroom.)
'Hell Bound'
Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
4'8" by 6' are the dimensions of the room (including space taken up by tub.) I greatly look forward to making that 4'8" by 9'. Oh yeah!!!! Show me the elbow room!
Our bathroom is about that size. Possibly a skosh larger. (Skosh = size of a fat cat.) If the Magic House Fairy appeared and offered me the choice of more closet space (there are literally only 2 tiny closets, one in each bedroom) or a bigger bathroom, I'd take the bathroom.
And that is why i am about to plop nearly all of my remaining savings into annexing a superfluous closet into that bathroom. I revel in the possibility of having space in the bathroom for a litter box ;) it matters! And no matter how many times the contractors tried to push a shower as a FANTASTIC space saving alternative....i MUST have a tub. It is not debatable. They should be able to just look at me and understand my need for occasional soaking.
eta: i suspect my ascetic dad will walk in and say "what? this is fine. small, but fine. Why are you wasting your savings on this project?" and then my mother will walk in, shriek, and offer to help fund the remodel even though she's in worse shape financially than i am. It might be somehow gender-based, this need for a pleasant bathroom.
erin, I just added you on LJ, btw. Also, I can't wait to see how your transform YOUR house. How exciting!
hey, java, did you see my note in Natter about taking on the cable company?
Aaand I just got email from the person I was supposed to meet. (I sent her email right before I left the tea shop, saying 'Er, waited here for 90 minutes?") Whoops, silly her, she meant the other branch of this particular tea shop! Not, you know, the one I sent her the address of last night, to double-check that we were talking about the SAME PLACE.
REEDING COMPREEHENSHUN. YOU CAN HAZ?
(Look, I feel I completely justified in resorting to LolCats in this instance. grumblegrumbleOTHERKINsweetzombiejebusgrumble)
Basically this guy is saying the small pox vaccine did nothing to eradicate small pox most of his information comes from the 19th century and he pretty much glosses over the 20th except to say the small pox vaccine caused more small pox than it cured. And that the only reason the the US and other countries stopped giving the vaccine was that it killed so many people.
Oh THAT guy. I can't remember his name, but he's an ignorant crank. (Or else this is someone who follows that guy's "research". Either way, pure crackpottery.)
I love it when a plan comes together - I came home a sweated some leeks, then added garlic. I added some chopped ham that I had discovered in the freezer earlier this week. I threw in some butter and flour sauteed it for a second, then added milk. to this lovely mixture, I added some truffle cheese. when the cheese melted, I added whole wheat penne and a handful of fresh spinach. Mmmmm. And the sauce was so well flavored that I couldn't taste the spinach, but it added a nice texture.
Cute house, erin! I look forward to seeing what you do with it.
