I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

A handbag shopping question for the hivemind, please. My current handbag is falling apart, and I'm looking for a new one, ideally in the $40-$60 range. I like largish black bags with long straps so I can wear it cross body. The fewer decorations, the better.

Does anyone have a favorite handbag website?

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Things that are annoying - when you give me a document that is dated the 8th, I assume that you have submitted it on the 8th. Particularly when I gave it to you on the 7th. I do not like calling to find out where my reimbursement check is, only to find that you didn't submit it until the FOURTEENTH. Luckily, I wasn't shirty when I called, since I was thinking that it was late, but I was actually calling too soon!

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

We were able to get the H1N1 at the pediatrician's office. We liked him a lot, but that really sealed the deal when he offered it to both of us. So glad to not have to think about it anymore.

All is well that ends in pizza.

So it looks like Andi and I are buying a new furnace on Monday. They will be here 7 am to install.

The one we have was built in the 80's and apparently is less efficient and $$$ to repair.

$2100 expense in a year that has seen two new cars and work reductions resulting in essentially a several thousand dollar pay cut for me.

Blergh.

I blame the idiot electrician who installed the 'new' wiring in this house. Something had to kill it. We just spent $300 on a new control module last year.

Thrive to spite them

Todd I'm glad you are feeling better.

That really sucks Dan sorry about that.

Our main email at work (which I'm responsible for dealing with) gets a LOT of ultra right wing political stuff it died down after the election (and after I unsubbed to a bunch) but now we're getting more and due to internet restrictions I have to forward them to my home email and then unsub. Well, I don't have to but they drive me nuts.

We've also been getting a Raw Food newsletter which I found mildly interesting until the latest one where the guy was talking about water and how to properly purify it and how water has memory so you have to reverse the polarity or something to erase waters memory of bad things. And that one of the best things you can do for your water is show it positive love energy by singing to it, praying to it, writing LOVE in the water and and on the container, etc.

The latest today was from some crank anti-vaccine doctor who was shilling for some 3 day alternative med conference where you can learn more about the "lies" of the medical industry. And he was goign on about how most of the epidemics such as anthrax, SARS, swine flu, and smallpox were just made up by the media and the medical industry only makes up a scare so they can sell a lot of vaccines that don't do any good. There were several paragraphs about this and how vaccines aren't a solution and he kept using small pox as an example.

There was a number included and it turned out to be his office, I got busy today but Monday I'm going to call his office and ask for clarification about that because I want to know if he's trying to claim that vaccines were no help wtih smallpox. That's how the email sounded, and if it's true I'm going to report him tot he medical ethics board of his state. Someone like that shouldn't have medical license.

At least I'm assuming he's a doctor and not just calling himself a doctor.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Someone who denies the near-eradication of smallpox by vaccine should get it. And Polio. And a dozen other things.

He is probably a Holocaust denier, too.
