[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Seska, I hope the lovely policeman made up for the wretched incident that prompted it.

He did, he did!

That particular incident may not have been truely unlawful, but now the community officer will be watching that area and be aware that at least one person is very hostile.

That's what both officers I talked to today were saying to me. It's better to report not-totally-illegal things that scare you, than to let people get away with things that could escalate into something worse.

Man, now I want a Bat Cave.

Yes.

I wonder if I could convert the parking lot downstairs...

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Heaps and heaps of ~ma and lots of prayers going out to you, Cindy. And I'm so glad to see your pixels more often lately; they're wise, funny pixels and they've been missed.

P-C, never mind about taking care of a house. Just ask her, you know, stuff. If she likes some show or book you know nothing about, ask her about it. Does she have a comfort food movie or book or song she turns to at the end of a truly crappy day? How did she first come to see/read/hear it? Best Halloween costume, favorite holiday, top five sandwiches ever eaten, would she rather have the power of flight or invisibility?

Really. Your LJ is full of all these interesting, quirky conversations you get into with interesting, quirky near-strangers all over the place, all the time -- except when you're meeting a potential wife. But that's the parental pressure, not some innate inability on your part. If you can manage to detach yourself from the pressure, you're totally, eminently capable of talking with a stranger. Even a female stranger. Even a cute girl stranger.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Yay for PC Barry. That kind of anger can be very scary.

I may have done too much on the ankle yesterday, because it felt so much better. I bought an OTC ankle brace, but the brace manufacturer is made of fail. It's a fairly complicated thing, with laces and velcro, and there are no instructions. I was left with the "make it look like the picture on the package" method. It also seems to be incompatible with most of my shoes.

ION, they are cutting down the tree across the street that should have been cut down years ago. It's been defying gravity, leaning at a 30-degree angle over the house with its roots in a crumbling retaining wall. I hope this is part of another effort to sell the house, because the renters have been an unfortunate lot. The downside is that they're going to be making that horrible grinding noise all day. I believe I will run some errands.

Much nothing~ma to our Cindy.

Good luck with the ankle Ginger. Sorry about the brace.

“Not dead yet!”

I think PC Barry can be our anti-Tino. When things are going bad that we blame Tino for, we can imagine PC Barry calling to reassure us that it will all be good.

What say y'all?

“Not dead yet!”

Cereal:

Hate those kinds of braces, Ginger. Are you looking for something flexible that will give you some measure of support or something a bit more rigid?

I have a flexible wrap brace from Futuro that I wouldn't give up for love or money. It hooks around the heel with a thin strap then wraps over the foot and around the ankle at precisely the tension you like.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Does PC Barry have superpowers? I would think he'd need to have them to counteract Tino....

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Glad the police were helpful, Seska.

My plan for today was to go grocery shopping at Whole Foods. I so can't handle that amount of walking, even with the cart to lean on. Maybe I'll go to Trader Joe's -- it's smaller. I still know it'll be really painful, though. I could order groceries online for delivery, but most of what I want right now is frozen dinners and other quick stuff like that, and the grocery stores that deliver don't have very many quick vegan options. A few, but not many.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

~ma to you, Cindy.

OMG DID I MENTION I TAKE MY MAKEUP COMP EXAM THIS WEEKEND???

Good luck, Nora! I know you'll do great!

I'm off to see about getting the #$%^!@$#$% H1N1 vaccine. I've been calling all over town and no one has it. Going to a health clinic thingy today to see if I can get it. Argh.
