'Safe'

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I hate them. Hate. To me they say, "Good, but not good enough." They are the stepchild of grades.

Heh. My college had a very strong anti-grade-inflation policy. You had to pretty much create carbon based life to get an A.

You had to be exceptional -- maybe (maybe!) one A per class. C was for doing all the work. B meant you did all the work and your work was interesting and well written. A meant you had done something worthy of publication in an academic journal. An A- was worthy of cartwheels.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Aims, I love lit crit, and I'd be happy to help you revise your paper if you want the help.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Bs are no more bad than stepfamilies!

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I know. I've had a candy bar and my view is improving.

Not as improved as it would be with say, a pint of Cherry Garcia, but improved nonetheless.

“Not dead yet!”

Is this not correct?

Don't get me started. That type of attitude has killed the love of learning in more people than I care to remember. I may have been a hard grader as a teacher, but I also instilled such a sense of pride in my kids for the grades they earned. Of course, we're talking fourth graders, so...

Yay for this today. I went to DSW and was sad because they had cool boots but they were half a size too small and $50 more on zappos. So then I went to the nordstrom rack where I never find shoes, an looked at clothes, and wandered to shoes and said "aren't those the boots Smonster was going to buy?" And lo and behold, they were. And half the price!

And so now I have a pair in brown and black, and I called Smonster and got her a pair in black. And since I'm in Spokane, gave no idea how I'm getimg all this home? But yay!

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Steph! Look what I found of yours!

Steph L: I will never be out of debt, and it is all because I am a cheap up-against-the-shelves textwhore.

Daaaaaamn. I Jossed myself.

Now I can buy more books without guilt! Woot!

Actually, my goal to complete by the end of October is to bundle up a MOUNTAIN of comic books to donate to Heroes 4 Heroes, which is a non-profit that sends comic books, DVDs, CDs, books, magazines, MP3 players, and game systems to soldiers in combat. They accept monetary donations but also donations of the aforementioned entertainment media.

The comics are overrunning the living room and bedroom, and so I gotta cull them. This way I know they'll be going to good "homes."

Then I can buy more! (I *have* been buying TPBs of a handful of titles that I still love -- the first 5-6 TPBs of the Teen Titans reboot, all the Blue Beetle reboot, a few older Robin TPBs. All of which I re-read more often than you might think, usually in bed as I'm falling asleep. They're my comfort reading.)

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I loves me some meara. Even more than before, which I didn't think possible.

I'm posting from a show which I'm pretty sure is hipster asshole behavior, so Ima stop. Amy Lavere and Lucero, if case you were curious.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Oof. Wisdom tooth. Ow.

Am I supposed to go to a dentist about this?

All is well that ends in pizza.

It's the wise thing to do.
