I'm fine! In fact, we got Liv her first pair of Chuck Taylors today. Black & white high tops.
Yay to all of this!!!
Willow ,'Lies My Parents Told Me'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Poor actor who played Ares (bad me for blanking on his name).
Kevin Smith. Very sad.
Kevin Smith. Very sad.
I had to look him up. What a tragedy.
My diamond shoes are too tight. It's a lovely, crisp fall night outside. I'm going to have a lovely salad of tuna, white beans, and basil for dinner. I want a glass of red wine to go with, but all I have at home is white. I'm going out of town next week, so I don't want to have two open bottles of wine in the house. Wah.
I have skimmed some.
I don't have ear wax problems.
I do end up calling SLNRLBF my boyfriend.
Does anyone have suggestions about where I can get a good sports bra for the plus sized woman? Lane Bryant is a bust...so to speak.
I have some pinot noir here, Vortex. Hold your glass near the computer while I connect this funnel to the USB port.
askye, I found this.
The name originated from the club's original blazer, which was navy blue in colour with the Foundress's 'rebus' or badge, signifying her name, embroidered on the pocket. Described in the 1908 issue of the college magazine:
...Foundress? They had women in the college back then? Huh.
(And I'm assuming, if they're called the Marguerites, that the rebus or badge is a daisy?)
Belated birthday yay to Omnis!
Javachick, that facebook friend is TOTALLY projecting, and unable to look beyond her own issues to recognise that your situation is not her situation. Because her response is not appropriate - but I think it's simply because she's so tied up with her own emotions right now. I'd ignore. (Well, or smite, if I was menstrual. Because I too have 3 emotions: 80% of the time it's happy sunny funtimes, 10% of the time it's curled up in a ball weeping, and 10% of the time it's Hulk Smash. Moderation? I don't need no stinkin' moderation.)
Did I miss Omnis's birthday?
Belated Birthday Happies, Omnis!
Argh. I am frustrated.
For applying for jobs, I need to find a professor who will write a recommendation assessing my teaching skills. The rule in the department is that each class taught or TAed by a grad students must be visited once in the semester by a professor who will observe and write up a short assessment. Several of the past semesters, including both times that I was teaching a course myself rather than being a TA, the assigned professor never showed up, and so I never got an assessment.
There's one professor that I TAed for twice, and he did actually come to observe at least one of those times (and I think both), so I asked him if he'd write my letter of recommendation. He said that he'd be willing to, but he doesn't really remember anything from when he observed, and he's not sure where the thing he wrote up then is, so the best he could do is a kind of generic recommendation, which will look pretty bad in an application.
I'm trying to remember who else has observed my classes. For everybody that I can think of, there's some reason that I'm hesitant to ask. (One has a tendency to write "balanced" recommendations that read as horrible to anyone who doesn't know him. Another is kind of crazy and I really don't want to take a chance on what he'd write.)
