I am at jury service. Dammit.
Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Seska, does it "pop" or just slowly return to normal when you put it through a range of motion?
I've taken Aleve. Tried lying down on the floor but that didn't seem to be helping. I could probably locate an ice pack...
Sean, I'm sorry this is ruining your day off. No fair.
If you open this, I will have just cause to sue you, AND you will need to go to confession. Come back later.
This is inspired.
It seems to be the season for inflamed, not-actual crises. Everybody seems to be doing it!
I'm just glad it's her (the ugly professor) nerves and not yours, Sparky, that will cause her to be wear herself out and create a perfect platform for flu/cold/injury as the weather gets colder.
Oh, jeez. Did I say that outloud?
Found out today that one of my student's parents died suddenly on Monday. And it's horrible and the student is so sweet and lovely and my heart is just breaking for the family.
Aw, ChiKat, that's terrible. Much ~ma for your student and family.
Y'all are making me blush. That will teach me to read b.org in a meeting. Thanks for the early wishes.
Sparky, that prof is crazy, and a clue enriched embarrasment is in order.
ChiKat, that is heart breaking. Comfort ma for the student and family. Seems bad things happen to good people to show there metal.
ION. Today will be meetings all over Dallas. All day. And first meeting today has already scheduled for another tomorrow. No fair. Not meetings on my Birthday!
Sparky, may you be able pump in peace!!
I might be the only person I know who doesn't mind getting called for, or reporting for, jury duty. I can't get over the feeling that I am fortunate to live in a country with juries. One time I served for a couple of weeks for the first prosecuted hate crime in SF. I had to go in to jury duty every morning, do my service, and then drive down to Palo Alto and work 8 hours (I worked at a job where they didn't cover jury duty, so I'd have been out of a paycheck.). I didn't mind.
Seska, does it "pop" or just slowly return to normal when you put it through a range of motion?
The joint? It can do either. Slowly returning is the least painful way. What's yours doing? Painkillers, ice and lying still sound like a good way to deal with it. If it doesn't get better on its own soon, I'd suggest seeing a doctor if you can. They'll know if you've done anything more complicated than just trapping a nerve.
I've never been invited to do jury service, probably because I live in an extremely overcrowded city so the odds are pretty low. I'd only find the court inaccessible and have to be excused, anyway! But I'd quite like to have the experience sometime.
ChiKat, that's horrible. ~mas to the student. I'm so sorry.
Not meetings on my Birthday!
I hear that in pirate accent.
ION, my dad walked into my room, saying we'll give the Big House Hunt another try this Friday, but that would be it.
Unfortunately, new options just won't come up.
I just wish I could find a fast way to feel better about it, or just indifferent. Or a time machine and reeducation of the past 24 years of my life.
I'm really not after the brackets, I just don't know what to do. I know it has to be done. I just wish it wouldn't hurt so much.
I'd be interested to serve on a jury, though I'm pretty sure "my dad's a judge" would see me excluded by one side or the other. I've never been called for jury duty in Australia. Conversely, I received multiple summonses while living in Philly (which, as a non-citizen, I had to decline).
