I have one (and maybe even THREE should I please them) day of work tomorrow with a particularly notorious attorney. Am I sleeping? Lands no.
Yeah, originally they wanted someone for three days. Then they said they'd try someone out for one day and decide if they'd ask them back for the next two. Seriously? This is how the world wound up with unions, people. I cannot wait for the economy to perk up a bit so the more absurd abuses of the underlings can ease off a bit.
Just had to share this link. [link] It is a "crystal rubber ducky hand cooler." It is $250.
He has a reputation for being a bit of a blowhard diva publicity hound.
Hopefully I'll not be working for him directly.
Insent to profile addy, hil.
Matilda is funny.
Seska - how's The Girl's family doing?
Settling in for the long haul of chemotherapy, before an assessment can be made of whether her father is eligible for surgery, which they'll decide in a couple of months. She's going to be buzzing between Tel Aviv and London for a while. I admire her strength of character - she's just getting on with it.
Shir, I don't really know what to say about your sister, but I hope she makes good choices from here on in, and that you're able to support her. Best wishes for your family's housing situation, too.

Stupid work has been keeping me busy, not keeping up in here as much as I'd like. I'm eons behind in the delurking thread! Crazy.
I tried to call dad tonight, but the phone just kept ringing, no answering machine or anything. I'm guessing the tape is full.
Oh, she could have made worse choices (unless, God forbid, something will happen to her in the extra time she chose to spend in the army). It's just a month, and since the next Academic year she'll be able to start university will start in October 2010, few months in army to save money to start life at a better point is rational choice.
I'm just angry at her for doing so because she's afraid to start her life, that's all. But it's her business, not mine.
Good luck and ~mas to The Girl and The Girl's family (you included), Seska.

I don't think this is all that uncommon. My brother in law is a retired Marine. He joined up a few years after school, because he didn't know what he wanted to do. Then, while in the service, took a million correspondence courses, and is one class away from a certificate in a dozen areas. And re-signed several times since we met, and I kept asking why, if every day his response to how's it going is "ya know, another day in hell". And his reason for going another term was "I dunno what I want to do when I grow up yet, so, it's a job, why not". Now he's a retired Marine. Go figure.
