"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Happy Birthday, Sail!!!

Aims, I first read your post as if you said she had gotten laid off for being rude. I liked that version better; what a bitca.

Obviously she does not know that our Aims can do anything she sets her mind to; either that or she's eaten up with jealousy because she does know it.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Happy, Happy Birthday, Sail!! A day spent in inside pants sounds like a brilliant way to celebrate.

Aims, just, wow. Maybe no one's ever explained the difference between funny and mean to her? Geez.

ion, I bought my first ipod this weekend. So far it has nothing on it because I decided that the first music I was going to load on it was the Beatles, and I keep forgetting to bring the CDs into the house. Am a dork. A dork with a shiny ipod, though.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

ARRRGH.

My sister just told my mom she signed the papers to stay in service as an NCO till the end of November.

And this is a very stupid thing to do. Not the staying, but the reasons.

She's afraid to get out of the army. She's afraid to possibly fail in real life. She's afraid she won't be able to fulfill herself like she had in her position.

Knowing her, and that she signed the papers today - a day she couldn't have a clear mind about things, giving her medical state after surviving army bureaucracy (which ignored her medical situation!) - I can't accept any of these reasons. If she were happy there, I could have understand it - it is good money once you're off the regular duty. She loves the job, but she hates her current crew.

Nothing we say can make her believe she can get out, and things will be alright. I hoped, but didn't think she'll be out on November 1st, because I understand the self fulfillment and money part - even if it makes my mom sleep very little at nights - but I can't accept this.

Now tagless for your comfort.

One more word out of that cow's mouth and I'm coming over there to slap the shit out of her, Aims. Feh.

SJ!

Shir, I'm sorry. That's a scary thing. She'll be healthy on the 1st, though, and you can talk to her with her mind uncloaded, maybe? I hope.

Sail, I thought it lots, but forgot to say happy birthday! Inside pants are of the good.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I kind of even forgot today was my birthday. I got presents from the family late last week, when we got together to celebrate family birthdays (the 2nd, 6th and 9th) with dinner, so other than all y'alls wishing me happy birthday, it's been dullsville around the condo. The highlight of my day will be throwing a frozen dinner in the microwave and new NCIS on the TV.

bonny, I hope you got good news about Bartleby, today.

Barb, lots of recovery~ma.

Aims, I was like sj, I thought you were saying that woman got laid off and I was all "YES". Bummer.

Our wings are not tired.

SailAweigh, can you treat yourself to a movie or a mani/pedi or something fun? Wish I was there to spoil you properly as is warranted by a birthday!!
