'The Train Job'

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

What a bummer, ChiKat. This is indeed a sucky time to be unemployed.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Oh boo, ChiKat. Boo them, not you, who are lovely and accomplished and will soon be productively employed, I decree it.

Oops. Imperial decree belongs to the Empress. I'm sorry you're not feeling well, Aimee. And Hil, and sj. I add my ow, dammit! to the chorus and gulp down my increasingly regular dose of Aleve. Owie.

Steph, I'm glad the horribleincredibleunstandable pain has given way to omgsore! Which will heal, so I vigorously approve.

Aaaand, I managed to get an appointment with the podiatrist for fricken toenail surgery this week. Stoopit psoriasis making my toenails tunnel and do ouchy things. I miss peep-toe sandals and polished piggies.

Librarian Warlord

Heaps of job~ma, ChiKat.

Heaps still coming your way, too, Sail.

If I could find someone on this campus (in the president's office or HR - I'm not sure where our paperwork is at the moment) to move things along, I could actually hire someone. I've made phone calls, reminded folks I'm going to be on pregnancy leave so we'd really like to move on this now . . . and no one has returned a phone call or an email. Frustrating!

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

That sooo sucks, ChiKat. At least you now have a couple of years of experience under your belt, so it should be easier to find a job than last time, right?

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Oops. Imperial decree belongs to the Empress.

Feel free to decree by proxy! This situation truly needs a decree-ing.

A pox on them ChiKat!

meara - Mar 03, 2009 7:50:32 am PST #2520 of 30000

Oh damn, ChiKat! That sucks. Is it because of the getting-rid-of-drama stuff??

Sparky, ass 'em in the ear. That'll wake them up!

tommyrot - Mar 03, 2009 7:52:48 am PST #2521 of 30000
Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Ooh, Aims, there's a typo in your tagline. It should be "their," not "there."

Cool tagline, though.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Sorry ChiKat

I think when it started raining cats and dog today they for got to let them out of the bag. Eveytime you walk outside it feels like buckets are being dumped on you.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Thanks, tommy. That's what I get for just cutting and pasting and not proofreading.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Thanks, y'all. It does, indeed, suck.

Is it because of the getting-rid-of-drama stuff??

Interestingly, not really. Supposedly, as in promised to the community but their promises aren't worth shit, there will be a semester drama class at 8th grade and an expanded after school drama program. But, there isn't anyone else in my building certified to teach drama.

I've been told it's due to financial issues. Which, again interestingly, a state senator told us at a board meeting last night that the district was spazzing out too early and that the state will pay, albeit late, but the money they owe us is indeed coming. AND, we'll be getting a bit more on top of it from the feds' stimulus package.

I'm one of 4 in my building to get RIF'd. Me, a social studies teacher, a Spanish/art teacher, and ?? I don't know who the 4th one is.

Over 120 teachers in the district are getting RIF'd. I suspect they'll end up hiring back 100 of them. I also suspect I won't be one of them. Admin seems to think that I riled up organized the Save Drama protests by the students and their parents. I didn't, but even if I did, fat lot of good that did.
