These girls have the most beautiful dresses. And so do I -- how about that?

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

( continues...) a while? I Hold Jesus, I got fired for not being able to be Pollyanna?

BITE ME.

(Ok, I needed to vent. This will all work out for the best, and I was at fault for some things, but FOR FUCK'S SAKE -- an hour?! I didn't even stab someone or call anyone names? WTFF?!)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Erin, that is so massively fucked up on all levels. Here's hoping you find a saner environment to work in soon!!

“Not dead yet!”

THIS is why I adore Erin. You so deserve better. That sounds like a toxic environment and fuck 'em with a rusty chainsaw if they can't take a real person.

Erin?

After what you told here, I believe you deserve the Noble Peace Prize.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Erin, your bosses are idiots. They don't deserve to have real human beings work for them.

You need to contest that firing with the unemployment folks, Erin, so you can get benefits. That's way fucked up. Especially, since you stayed past your clocked out time to put in work hours. They get you for free and then fire you? No fucking way.

Oh, no, I am in no way needing the Peace Prize! I AM impatient, assertive, sarcastic, and I get sick a lot.

However, I also worked a lot through sickness, chronic depression, excrutiating pain, and I did some really damned fine work. And I worked my fucking ass off.

It was NOT the right position for me. But I think they have...unrealistic expectations. In many, many ways.

So I am taking the morning to mourn and be angry. Worked on a lot of job serach stuff yesterday, will move this weekend. My bf is being a prince -- but I feel like a shitheel for being all "Oh, I'm moving in by the middle of October YAY! Er -- oh, I'm moving in NOW because I GOT FIRED! Support me, honey! I'm A FEMINIST -- but can you support me financially because I LOST MY JOB!"

YAY.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Erin, your former workplace sounds about as screwed up as a workplace can be. You definitely deserve better. I hope you find it very soon.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

I AM impatient, assertive, sarcastic, and I get sick a lot.

I can't see anything wrong with any of the above. Mostly because

However, I also worked a lot through sickness, chronic depression, excrutiating pain, and I did some really damned fine work. And I worked my fucking ass off.

You see? People who aren't at work a lot for all kinds of acceptable reasons (as in, not taking a day off because feel like it, but because sick) work as much as "in work 24/7, whoo-hoo!". There are a lot of arguments about it in Israel, where mothers are fighting for their place in the market for having a 14 weeks paid maternity leave (with the option of another 6 weeks before the birth, and the can take 14 more weeks after the original 14 weeks, though unpaid, but their place is on hold for them. Also, you can't fire a pregnant lady). Strangely, said arguments rarely bring the men who are being called for reserve duty at least 6 weeks of the year (while most women don't give birth every year).

It was NOT the right position for me

And I wish you'd find your place. With a raise.

Support me, honey! I'm A FEMINIST -- but can you support me financially because I LOST MY JOB!

Again, nothing wrong with that. You're a good sensible person, Erin. And I'll try to remind you that from time to time.

OK, we're about to have the family's Friday night dinner, which will be very sensitive and on which we're supposed to talk about the moving.

Your ~mas would be appreciated, as always. I want it to be nice and easy.
