I'm going to direct my energy to writing and talking to my contacts about the slim chance of me getting some sort of reality show
I hear TLC is about to have a timeslot free!
Sorry, Seska - my post was badly phrased. I was trying to agree with your point that mental and physical illnesses ought to be treated equivalently by doctors and the general public.
(Mild carpal tunnel can sometimes be treated with PT alone, but there's no stigma attached to needing steroid injections or surgery if that's what is medically indicated. And there's no reason mental illness should be treated any differently.)
Oh fuck - can I get some of that chocolate too?
We've known for weeks that something was going on around here. Rumor now is that we'll know for sure by Monday if our department will continue to exist or not.
Good luck and job~ma, Jessica.

So I just got back to my office a bit ago. Around 10:45 we got a call that my co-worker passed out at Mickey D's on his way to work. So I sat in the ER waiting for his family to get there for about 3 hours. Poor noodle. He has contusions on his face and is a little bit loopy. Yay DingDongs and Mountain Dew for lunchies!!
Dear Day,
Effing END already.

So, open bar
Jessica ~ OK, I see your point now. It's a good analogy.
(Heh - and all the misunderstanding would be a part of the 'I'm having a bipolar day' thing. And then I remember why I think The Girl is verily an angel sent from on high. Or I would, were it not for the huge mess that is our flat. God's messengers are presumably cleaner than that.)
Mmmmmm. Chocolate.
ETA: Jessica, have the rest of my chocolate mousse. I hope very much that your dept is safe.
Edited again: Aims, chccolate for you too.
Did the universe have a big grudge against this day, generally?

Yeah. The book
Listening to Prozac
really informed my opinion on this. Long-term depression and/or anxiety can cause physical damage to the brain. Anti-depressants can help the brain to function more normally despite this damage. It's... just not right to tell a depressed person to "just tough it out" or whatever when they're actually dealing with a damaged brain.
Oh hell, Jessica!

Judging by the fact that mine started with someone texting my husband at 1AM, being unable to get back to sleep, and continued on with the discovery of my daughter's fractured ankle, I'd say yes.
I've retreated to my jammies and bed and last night's ep of Glee in hopes that Nothing Else Will Happen.
