[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Survived the entire fast of Yom Kippur for the first time, and did it under my mom's nose.

Besides sore throat now (which started after I resumes drinking), several "why the hell am I doing this, again...?" thoughts and nearly going "well, I think I got the most out of it by now, I think I should start eating again" an hour and a half before the finish line, it was actually remarkably easy.

Still not 100% sure why I did it. Even not 90% sure.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Congrats on surviving the fast, Shir. The Girl didn't attempt it this year as there was too much going on, but I'm always very impressed with how she fasts several times a year. In her case, not being religious, she does it for reasons of family and cultural tradition. She seems to find it helpful. Anyway, happy new year!

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Survived the entire fast of Yom Kippur for the first time

Survived? But it just started!

She's doing the whole 4 fasts and not being religious? Wow.

Survived? But it just started!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I didn't quite make it. My blood sugar is not cooperating with fasting today. I got 20 hours before I had to eat something.

Hmm. Maybe I got that wrong, 'cause 4 sounds like more than they do. I'll have to ask her. I was sure it was more than just once a year, though. But then, I'm new to all this. We've only been going out for four years. *rolling my eyes at myself* *which is quite hard to do*

Hil, that's completely acceptable, though, right? The Girl won't fast if she has a migraine. She said something about it being banned if you're ill.

The definition of what counts as ill enough to not fast varies, depending on who you ask. My usual gauge is that, if I feel like I'm going to faint, I'll eat something.

Yes, that's acceptable in my book, too.

I took a zip of juice this morning to take something against the headache I had all night, because I knew if I'll keep that way I'll break the fast soon.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

My friend's 12 year old daughter has been inspired by Project Runway to draw her own fashion designs.

Cashmere, please tell her that she is very talented, and I quite like her Goth Ghost Girl design.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Would anyone like to adopt a never-worn medium-sized black Trixie dress?

What color is it? I might be interested. I have an unworn Trixie in a size small that needs a good home. I thought I gave it to ita but I recently unearthed it. Anyway, if she or someone else wants it, it's yours.
