I'm sorry, omnis. How frustrating for you.

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
god bless the iPhone. Conference call with my sister and brother.
ETA Now I got my uncle on the line, and he's giving us some info. Conference call is a wonderful thing.
Not an embolism, but still has pneumonia.
Well, I never thought I'd be glad to say this, but I'm glad it's pneumonia - lot easier to treat than an embolism. Yay, iPhone conference calls, and Yay, more accurate info.
beth, your patio looks great! I'm having patio envy.
omnis, I'm sorry for all the frustration! Way to make an already stressful situation worse.
I'm also sorry for giving an update on my cute girl angst in the middle of this.
I composed a voicemail in Notepad. I vetted it with a friend. I rehearsed it a dozen times. Then I listened to a relaxing song and did some breathing exercises. I felt calm, cool, and collected.
As soon as I picked up the phone and called, my heart started racing. I tried not to focus on that, instead trying to keep my breathing steady, focusing on the words in front of me, waiting for it to go to voicemail.
Instead, she picked up.
I identified myself, and she asked how I was and apologized for not responding to my e-mails, as she had been swamped at work. She knew it was going to sound like a lame excuse, but the next morning after we met, she had to go to LucasFilm.
"Oh. Well, I'm very sorry that you had to go to LucasFilm," I said.
"I can tell!"
Unfortunately, she did have plans this weekend, but she—she—thought we should get together for drinks or dinner, maybe next week. She'd e-mail me.
My brain cannot even process this. I have to reorient my entire view of the world. This is like the first time something like this has happened to me in my entire life.

Ugh omnis, I agree with Windsparrow, it is very weird to be saying I'm glad it's pneumonia, but I'm glad it's pneumonia.
Just recently I started to realise that most people are not malicious, and that parents usually want what's best for their child - even if they get that wrong a lot.
This is very true. I tell myself that a lot.
I'm also sorry for giving an update on my cute girl angst in the middle of this.PLEASE! That update is good. Distractions are always welcomed. I'm thinking there will be a lot of Beatles Rockband this weekend. Anyone want to try a LIVE co-play?
My friends are having a Beatles: Rock Band party on Sunday!
chortling at P-C's tale of calling the cute girl.
I'm laughing with you. Really.
It's not funny! This is a traumatic paradigm shift! Except the good kind.
