Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Have you ever tried using a timer? *All* my productivity is thanks to using timers. There's a free app called Instant Boss that's really easy to use and it helps keep me focused at work (unless I circumvent it). You can also use a kitchen timer.

Giving myself permission to take breaks and practicing stopping breaks and returning to work is key for me personally. Also helps enormously with housework (yes, I'm kind of a Flybaby, for those of you who know what that is).

...and there goes my timer! Back to work.

(I've already done my allotted 1 hr of Most Dreaded Task today, and of course I'm so into it I don't want to stop)

(My other productivity aid is listening to dharma talks while I work, but I suspect that's less universally applicable)

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

That's an interesting idea. My preferred work style is to get entirely lost in it for several hours, but that's not great for my energy levels. I should try shorter bursts of work. I'll look up this Instant Boss thing. Thanks!

Listening to music (or very familiar TV shows) in the background while I work usually helps, but at the moment it's just making me more distracted. I might have to find something else to have in the background.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I'd be quite concerned if I started sounding Australian.

It's easy to sound Australian, just practise this simple phrase: "Nice weather we're having."

"Nice weather we're having."

Yeah, we wouldn't say that here.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Very nice weather.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

You wouldn't think that this image could get any creepier, but the red dust does in fact make it creepier: [link] Well done, Mother Nature.

Burn it! burn it! send it back to hell! That must be what's turning the sky red with the blood of the innocent.

We have a Luna Park in Melbourne too! Less dusty though.

Yeah, I like to do this sometimes too. I personally have a lot of resistance to actually getting started, so it's easier for me if I know I only have to do it for 10-15 min before I get a break. But once I start, I sometimes get so into it that I end up skipping the breaks.

Anyway, hope the app helps. It's very simple and easily modified to suit your needs.

Luna Park in Melbourne is pretty damn creepy, too, sans dust.
