“Not dead yet!”

I've been saying all day that it's a very Monday sort of Saturday. I blame Tino.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Nice thing about the call system is that the.moment you arrive, they take you right back to a room.

That's a point in its favor, though the fact that they need call system sucks.

ION, we did some yardwork for about an hour -- *I* was the damn fool who said, "It's a gorgeous day -- let's do something outside!" -- and cut down an enormous vine thing that had grown up our neighbor's downspout, over onto the far end of our clothesline, onto our fence, and was rapidly approaching the gate in the fence. Cutting that fucker down was satisfying.

Then we attacked the mostly dead clematis in the front yard, which climbs the porch and grabs anything it can find. It's like kudzu.

And then I looked down and realized I have welts all over my legs, thanks to something green. I'm also very itchy, so I turned over my pruning shears and came in for Benadryl, cold water, and a hot shower.

Mother Nature is a bitch.

Mother Nature is a bitch.

And you pissed her off!!

It is. I'm impressed by the call system. Very convenient.

Hey, the clematis was overtaking the porch and twining into the Japanese maple -- we needed to show it who was boss!

Shower now. And I'm having a hankering for chicken soup, since I just recommended it in Natter.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I am deep cleaning -- or at least sort of deep cleaning. This seems to involve furniture rearrangement. The cat, while happy we are home is unsure why a vacuum cleaner is necessary and he has moved into a box that is slightly to small for him.

“Not dead yet!”

Omnis, much healing ~ma for your dad.

We're back from the Doc-- it was all very efficient, once we got there, they got us right into a room, took her vitals, and within twenty minutes, were taking a full set of x-rays of both ankles for comparison.

The verdict is a severe sprain-- she's wrapped, has a surgical walking shoe and a pair of crutches that she's to use for the next week. Which should be an adventure given how physically big her middle school is and the fact that her schedule has her schlepping from one end to the other at least four different times throughout her six period day.

It's good that it's not a break and it's good that while we're going out of town on Tuesday, it's my sister who's coming to stay with the kids. Since she's a nurse she can administer Mooshu's insulin and wrap Abby's ankle.

I bought a cupcake earlier today. I'm going to wait for Lewis to get home, have him make me a cup of tea, and enjoy my freakin' cupcake because dammit, I think I've earned it.
