Oh, Teppy. I'm sorry you are hurting so badly. Much~ma for you and for getting the care you need swiftly and with no trouble. Also a bit of reasonable-bosses~ma.
Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Hee, hee, Liefur!
I am trying to figure out what to do WRT snow day. There's some flexibility, which makes me feel all responsible and guilty and shit. Also, I worked from home on Friday while waiting for the delivery of my dishwasher, so I *could* technically work from home, but I don't want to push my luck (my being able to work from home is a new development and I don't want to screw it up).
Okay. It's 7:15 now, and I just called the dentist's office, and got the "we are closed; please call back during regular office hours" message. But they didn't say what the regular office hours are -- 9 to 5? 8 to 4? I assume 9 to 5, but then again, medical offices are often open early so patients can come in before work.
So I'm going to try to go back to bed for 45 minutes and then call again. It feels like the pain is finally easing up after 2 hours, so maybe I can snooze peacefully for a little bit.
Ye gods. I am, in the end, grateful that this is 2009 and not the Dark Ages, because this *can* be dealt with easily and with a minimum of pain and potential death (or so I hear). But right this second? Oh dear god, it's horrible.
That sucks, Steph. My dentist has 8 am appointments; yours might be open by then, too. I hope they can get you in right away.
I have an itty bitty little swollen feeling in my throat, and now I'm obsessing about what happens if it turns out to be another infection.
Okay. I have an appointment at 9:50, so I'm going to shower and get out the door. The Boy left me a note that said "Eat some peanut butter!"
If they tell me, like for sarameg, that I need root canal right the hell now, I will be thrilled.
I called work, and Incompetent!Boss made sincere-sounding sympathetic comments (I think he's had some mega dental problems in the past), so it should be okay. And even if it's not, you know? I gotta get this taken care of. They do not want me at work weeping and howling at my desk.
So. Wish me luck and something that gets rid of the pain!
Luck and painkillers to you, and I'm so, so glad that you are now only half an hour away from getting some relief.
I hope the dentist has a good technique and can relieve your pain today, Teppy.
We just got back from running the dog in the park - she had a blast and is now zonked out in front of the radiator.
So she's not a puppy any more? How big is she?
She's 17 months old and about 20 lbs now. In today's snow she didn't have much clearance and plowed her way through.
