Just skimmed a bunch of posts.
I met with my advisor today to talk over job application stuff. He actually had some useful suggestions.
I'm going to my parents' for Rosh Hashanah tomorrow, but my mom can't pick me up at the NJ train station because she's still feeling kind of dizzy and light-headed, so I've got to take the train into NYC, take a cab up to where my dad works, hang out there for a few hours, and then drive home with him.
I still need to pack my suitcase. I need two synagogue outfits, two family dinner outfits, one nice restaurant outfit, and three regular outfits. When I was a kid, shopping for synagogue outfits for Rosh Hashanah was a big deal, and those would be our Nice Outfits for parties and stuff for the rest of the year. Now, I'm just digging through my closet, trying to put together something that looks halfway OK.
I love the above discussion and will let it sleep until everyone is back in the land of wakiness.
In completely other news, i have a new shift at work which changes my weekend to tuesday, wed, thurs. This is not necessarily a bad thing. My favoritest live band in the whole entire world (New Model Army) is playing Portland on a Tuesday night (i already bought a ticket on the assumption that i would FIND a way to make it work regardless of work schedule) and now am eying the Wed night performance in Seattle. Since i don't have to work that day or the next, i could totally road trip to see them two nights in a row.
Do i really want to do this?

Wait -- teaching leads to booty on tap?!
I are doin' it wrong. Figures.
Actually, I'm still at school. We have open house tonight and we're in 8th period right now (my plan). One more class and then I can get outta here.
good luck, Barb...
I have some serious fears of a similar reaction from my family if we ever decide to leave New England.
Wait -- teaching leads to booty on tap?!
If it did I would never have given it up.
Hey, Bitches. Popping in to ask if anyone has suggestions for dealing with antibiotic-related stomach yuckies? Besides yogurt. Not for me, for my sis.
There are probiotic tablets that you can buy at health food stores. That's the only option I know of besides yogurt.
For me, moderately brewed black tea with honey, and a slice of toast.
I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on tv.
Ok, I think I need brain bubble wrap or something. First my mom doesn't call and let us know she totaled her car. Now my dad didn't want to call and worry us that the tests he went in for are resulting in surgery on Friday! "nothing major". Ya, they are just removing your pancreas, and if it's too entwined with the spleen, that too! Nothing major. Ugg. My parents driving me crazy.
Dude, it's an ORGAN! That's major!!
Parents nowadays...
