This is my boat. They're part of my crew. No one's getting left. Best you get used to that.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

(Also, considering some of the processed crap that I eat, I really can't be too concerned about a bit of chemical leaching from plastic containers. Once I stop eating some of that junk food, I'll feel a bit more justified in trying to avoid plastic.)

I thought that we only had to worry about that if you heated the plastic, it was okay if it was in the fridge.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Well, I usually microwave the frozen broth before I use it. Plus, I'm paranoid.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Hi, all, and thanks for all the lovely recup wishes! I did get more painkillers -- what I THOUGHT was generic Vicodin was generic Lortab and I dunno what that is, except it works, so yay!

I am able to take short walkies, so yesterday I walked to the corner salon and got my brows waxed and my bob shaped, and know feel almost human.

I am being very good about not pick up heavy shit, and am feeling fine.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Hooray Erin!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Timelies, all. The cooking posts are making me hungry. Luckily I have a fridge full of food, because we're expecting a winter storm here this afternoon, so the stores will be filled with panicked North Carolinians buying all the bread and milk they can lay their hands on. My upstairs neighbor has declared today Due South marathon madness day, so I'll be making chocolate chip cookies and watching Paul Gross be hot as the sleet ticks on the windows. Pretty much my definition of a perfect day.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Calli, I think I'd like to spend the afternoon with you and your neighbor instead of going to work, Calli. For Paul Gross and some chocolate chip cookies, I'd be glad to help dig out.

Hi, Torque!

I've never heard of Lortab, erin, but I'm glad if it is helping you.

Teppy, how's your head? You still hanging in there?

Hil, could you get a glass container a bit bigger than the plastic ones? Then when it is time to use the frozen broth, run the plastic thing under hot water for a few seconds to loosen the block of broth out of the plastic. You put the block into the glass container and that into the microwave.

Thrive to spite them

Timelies everyone!

Erin glad to hear you are feeling better.

I thought hardboiled eggs kinda floated when they are done, but I'm not sure since I don't boil eggs much.

I have pictures of the flowers I got --- [link]

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Teppy, how's your head? You still hanging in there?

It's mostly okay; my jaw and cheekbone still feel like I got sucker-punched. I have an appt. to see my doctor Tuesday, and I'm going to find a dentist tomorrow and see when I can get an appointment to make sure my teeth aren't going to mutiny.

And, because it's always something, and although I realize constant posting about ailments is beyond tiresome, I tweaked my back yesterday while I was walking at the gym (hello? walking is supposed to HELP damn it), but I thought I stretched it out (plus ibuprofen for the sinuses also help my back). But it's hurting again today -- more the hip than the back -- and I'm just ready to turn in my body for an upgraded model.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I'm glad your head feels better, but I'm sorry about the back, Teppy.

Erin, it's great to hear about your on-schedule recovery.

See, the thing about NC is that we rarely get snow. We get ice. I mean, snow's a pain, with the shoveling and all, but you can get around in it, and you (and/or the kids) can play in it. What good is sleet? Can you build a sleet man? Go sleet-skiing? You can't really skate on it, it's too bumpy, and skating uphill is just--wrong. Rather have snow.

Well, Paul Gross and fresh CCCookies would be an acceptable distraction, until one had to actually *drive* somewhere on the sleet. The melted and refrozen sleet.
