Joyce: You don't think it's too obvious? I think I look like I have a cat on my head. Buffy: But a very well groomed cat. Joyce: Well that's a comfort.

'Bring On The Night'

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Yeah, he apologized for taking so long to respond; he said the letter had ended up in the wrong pile or something. As soon as he read it, he e-mailed me. He gave me his direct number to call him on Monday and touch base on when I can bring the car down. And he'll be meeting me there.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

P-C, glad to hear things are progressing.

ION- looks like I'm helping work with some testing before we change over to GoogleApps. Give help with the Mac transition, since there are only 4 or 5 of us. Which means I get early access! Sweet. Yes, I'm a geek. This surprises you how?

Lastly, it was very nice of the Yankees to delay the start of the game until I got home. Literally, I was bummed I forgot to TiVo the game. Sat in the comfy chair. Rain delay ended within 30 seconds! Although, it looks like it's still raining. Hopefully get to see Jeter get a hit before the game is called. His next hit has him breaking a 73 year old record for career hits. Right now he's tied with Lou Gehrig.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I just talked to my dad. My mom's doing better, but staying at least another night in the hospital.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

had a nummy dinner at Hungry Mother in Cambridge. They were just named one of the Top 10 Best New Restaurants according to Bon Appetit. [link]

I got there early (since it is close to work) and had the boiled peanuts and a Sazerac Rye Manhattan while waiting for Tom. He arrived and got one of their specialty cocktails, the no. 43, made with Overholt Rye, 10 year old tawny port, maple syrup, and bitters. We had 2 small plates- the beef tongue canape and the country ham (like prociutto but more so), with homemade biscuits and pepper jelly.

I also requested a "bartender's choice" cocktail and got something that was based on a drink called a Woodstock, but instead of bourbon, it had applejack. Also lemon and maple syrup, and some other stuff and it was awesome.

I had the roast chicken with grits, kale, and redeye gravy (I never get the chicken at restaurants, but I've heard such awesome things about this one.) Tom got the grilled bluefish with farro, corn, and cranberry bean succotash. We got a side of the local corn which was partially creamed and topped with bacon lardon and chives.

SO FUCKING AWESOME.

We finished up with a small peach-rasberry cobbler with creme fraiche ice cream and after dinner drinks- a cappuccino for Tom and a coffee cocktail (chilled) for me, the no. 20, a chilled double shot of espresso, grand marnier, vodka, and sorghum syrup.

Best. Birthday. Dinner. Ever.

Our wings are not tired.

And yes, a definite Happy Birthday to Trudy! I admit I often screw up in properly wishing birthday wishes to Buffistas. I think I even missed Flea! It's because I often have to threadsuck and read over a period of hours at work (sneaking in a few minutes here and there) and by the time I get to the end, I forget every meaningful thing I wanted to say.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Best. Birthday. Dinner. Ever.

Awesomecakes!

Those cocktails and menu items sound very much like Alembic (in SF) by the way.

Tom just said, "I *knew* Smay would like the sound of that."

Tom just said, "I *knew* Smay would like the sound of that."

He was correct.
