LOVE Ed Wood. Landau is AMAZING.

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Shadow of a Doubt is great. Both for Charlie's character and an almost Lynchian darkness-in-a-small-town vibe.
Ed Wood
"It's all in the wrist."
I mean - really: Martin Landau as BELA LUGOSI? What's not to absolutely, whole-heartedly ADORE about that combo.
As JUNKIE BELA LUGOSI, no less!
What's not to absolutely, whole-heartedly ADORE about that combo.
In interviews Landau talked about how difficult it was for him physically because he's all teeth, and Lugosi's mouth was always a gaping, black hole. Love that attention to detail in his performance.
Plus his vigorous attack on the rubber octopus.
I love the soundtrack too: Bongos and Theremin! Genius.
"Boris Karloff? FUCK YOU!"
"Boris Karloff? FUCK YOU!"
"I want to hear you call Karloff a cocksucker again." "SHHH! We want these Baptists to like us!"
Ed Wood viewing tonight! Sean's house!
Martinis and popcorn! Cheezy Poofs and Wine! Be there!
Nothing to see here...move along.
I know. I've been thinking about that all morning, Drew.
I've made some changes to my part of the conversation. And if others who directly reference my posts could do similar, I'd appreciate it.
