Pix, I had the same maddening experience when I did online traffic school last year. I set up my laptop next to my iMac so I could surf on the iMac while the traffic school site ran down the clock on the laptop. Still annoying, but a little better.

The last time I did traffic school it was supposedly comic, but not. It wasn't a big deal since it was ticking off the time in the background while I did my work and browsed the internet in another window. I just had to remember to check occasionally to see if it was test time.
eta: annoying, but cheaper than the fix your ticket lawyers.
