My mom has tried to friend me twice. My dad tried once too. And so did my aunt. I've added some of my cousins and given most of them limited profile status.
Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I try to remember this every time I do tech support for my family. No matter how many times I beat them with a cluestick, they still have no clue.
Every time I've upgraded to a new computer, my mother has tried to get my old one and I have to come up with some excuse as to why she cannot, under any circumstances, have it.
Because I am not going to be her 24/7 tech support. For God's sake, the woman would call me from Miami, to ask me what channel the FSU football games would be on.
"ESPN, Mom."
"What channel is that?"
"I have no idea Mom. You have cable, I have satellite."
So of course, she gets satellite. And still calls me to find out the channel.
"Mom, just check the program guide."
"But which satellite channel is Channel 10 on?" (One of the Miami network channels)
"I have no idea, Mom. The local stations are on different channels."
"Well, what channel is your ABC?"
"Channel twenty-five."
::silence for a moment::
"But that's not Channel 10."
"I didn't say it would be, did I? You asked for my ABC channel, I told you."
"Well, what good does that do me?"
Nope. No computer for her.
Not on my watch.
Being on twitter has already informed me that S3 of The Guild has started. I would have never known otherwise. Technology is useful.
Dude...Barb's mom makes me feel like a techie. I didn't know there was anyone alive who knew less about that shit than me. VICTORY! (But, no, still don't wanna do her tech support.)
Anyone who follows me on Twitter sees immediately that it's where my alter ego plays. I don't want a lot of people who I'm connected to on Facebook to follow me on Twitter. As funny as it seems, Twitter is more private for me. Most of the people I engage with on Twitter are political types/ journalists, and African American. It brings out a different side of me. I love it. It's actually where I feel most at home.
On Facebook, I have many, many very loving extended family (and close friends) who are very conservative Christian, so most of my posts and links are neutral. I am rarely neutral on Twitter.

But you are awesome there.
But you are awesome there.
You're too sweet. And very forgiving of my endless Giants tweets. :)
Well, it can't be the Phils all the time, I suppose.
Well, it can't be the Phils all the time, I suppose.
Next three days it's ALL Phils and All Giants, baybay!!
Reseacher's log, #1:
Despite somewhat mellow-disappointing first impression, so far Twitter is a success: I only twited "let's do science, bitches", and Bitches are helping me with their own views on the empirical data over at b.orgy.
I might will have to ask for a good job, and see what will come up.
Future tasks: buy Bitches flowers, and consider calling more people bitch, if they help me in unexpected ways.
