Dawn: I think a date should be in a real fancy restaurant, then champagne at a night club with a floor show, then ballroom dancing. Joyce: Unfortunately, we're not dating in a movie from the thirties.

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

“Not dead yet!”

Grab him by the ear and knee him in the crotch, Vortex. It worked for Dawn Fraser.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Monday is being mixed for me. The extra good workout yesterday proved just how much I did, for this morning, it felt like the earth and moon were both on all my arms and legs. Ooff. I go to rehearsal hall to set up sound system for visiting designer who "needs it ready to go when I land". Then wait. And wait. While he decides to shower and nap after landing. Then finally arrives, anounces that he probably won't need the system until Wednesday, and is going to do lunch. Great. I'll go to my office 20 minutes away now, glad I spent the morning getting you set up for Wednesday. And thanks for being considerate and all. So, I think I'll leave work early today. Bah.

On the good side, the Vitamin C + Day/NightQuil seems to have knocked this cold thingie down before it got out of hand.

Our wings are not tired

That's just really assholish behavior from your designer. Is it anyone I know?

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

We are going to look at the baby today at 2:45. Exciting! He has been pretty active lately, but the movements are still on the soft side. I definitely feel them and know it's him, but DW hasn't been able to feel him yet. She is so excited to feel some kicks - is cute. She also keeps saying, "Can they just give us the baby already???" Hahahahaha! It's so sweet seeing her getting into Mommy-mode.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

I'm skipping to post:

5,147 words. 23 sources, not including references to sources I didn't quoted directly. I now understand to where 7 months of my social life went to.

Yes, the last paper as a freshwoman, and the one I was so excited about, is now complete (except for the additional editing I'll probably have tomorrow).

I have tears in my eyes, y'guys.

Could've been roses, but I figured you'd appreciate the boys more.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I know that I’m a bit … jaded … when it comes to my mother’s treatment of me, so can I ask for an opinion on something?

My sister’s best friend (SBF) and SBF’s boyfriend came up to the cabin over the Fourth. She has always been considered a part of the family and is always welcome – open invitation per my parents. So the sleeping arrangements were: Brother and Fiancé in the camper (Fiancé might need her privacy, according to my mother). Sis and Husband on the futon (Husband cut the tip of his finger off and couldn’t sleep in a tent. That one I totally get.) Em and I in a tent. SBF and BF in a tent.

B&E are our (Joe and my) best friends. We are Godparents to each other’s oldest children. They just moved back to Michigan. My family (us, my parents, my sister and her husband) are going up to the cabin over Labor Day. I called and asked my mom if B&E and their kids could come up. I was told, “No – there isn’t any room.” I said, “They could stay in the camper, Jess and Matt on the futon, and Joe, Em, and I in a tent. “No. Your sister needs the camper. She needs to get some rest.” (Jess is having her third thyroid scan in a couple of weeks.) I say Jess didn’t mention that when her and I talked about it on Friday. “It doesn’t matter. That’s how it’s going to be. There’s no room. No.”

Am I being childish in that I want to call fucking shenanigans? Or is this more bullshit favoritism of my sister that my mother is so gloriously famous for? Mind – I have NEVER asked for anyone to come up before during a family holiday. Ever.

I get that it's her cabin and she gets to have final say, but I guess I'm sick to effing death of being the one who always has to hear "no".

You know me so well. But right now, it's shower, dinner (don't ask me when's the last time I ate, I don't know), about 5 hours of sleep (ugh!), and then saying goodbye to the paper that's been on my mind for the past 9 or 10 months.

Our wings are not tired.

Aims, is there room for another tent for B&E family? Is there a tent around for them to use?
