[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

“Not dead yet!”

Today is a day I really did not need to be around humans, as evidenced by the fact that I went to the grocery store and a) there was a child shrieking their way through the entire store and all I could think of doing was tracking down the kid, slapping duct tape over their mouth and showing them how real shrieking is done.

(We're talking this kid was letting loose with the extremely high pitched, make your eardrums bleed, set the dogs howling, shrieks.)

And then as I'm wandering through the frozen foods section, I run across an absolutely atrocious smell and after a second, realize it's coming from the guy about twenty feet in front of me who, while neatly dressed, smelled as if he hadn't bathed or touched a bar of soap in thirty years. I mean, this was serious funk, the made the eyes water and lingered long after. It was literally so bad, the managers were opening up lanes furthest from the express lane where the guy stood.

This made Day Five at a Gamer Con palatable.

It could be my tolerance is also exceptionally low.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Do people who are in couples always sleep on the same side of the bed, both at home & away? And if so, which sides?

We do. I sleep on the left side (with Henry to my right) and we keep that arrangement when we travel, though there was a time when I slept on the right because that let Henry sleep furthest from the door (and against the wall)(he is still furthest from the door at home, but is not always when we travel and was not in the last house we lived in before this one where he was still on the right side, so the the leftness and rightness has outlasted any other reason, it would seem (neither of us has been against the wall since we bought this bed, however, which is something like 8 years?)). I would kind of like to break out of it, because while I toss and turn quite a bit, I was told at some point that sleeping on my left side is beneficial in some way so I tend to at least try to do that, which means turning my back to DH when I don't mean to be unfriendly, just trying to get comfortable, but habit is a very strong force that I'm not sure I want to mess with for no real reason.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I am not in a couple, but I always sleep on the left side, both at home and away.

The ~ma is strong, y'all. My mother called me and asked if she could change her mind about coming to the bday party tomorrow. This is as close as she'll get to apologizing, so I'm calling it a win. Thanks for having my back.

Oh, yay! Sounds like a win to me, Vortex.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Hey, from a mom, especially a stressed out one? That *is* a win. Glad to hear it too.

Really? You don't sprawl across every available bit of mattress? I always do when I have the bed to myself. I only ever had single beds before H, so there was no real question of which side to sleep on when I was single.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

From what I've read, the biggest hurdle with medical marijuana is that you have to smoke it, which makes politicians twitchy.

Well, you can vaporize it, but that's a lot like smoking

In California you can get it medically to smoke, vapourize, or eat.

This is as close as she'll get to apologizing, so I'm calling it a win

Good on her. It's hard having to accept that it's the best you'll get, sometimes, but I'm glad you got it.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Do people who are in couples always sleep on the same side of the bed, both at home & away? And if so, which sides?

For whatever reason, we switch sides when away. It's very odd.
