That's the thrill of living in the Hellmouth! There's a veritable cornucopia of fiends and devils and ghouls to engage ... Pardon me for finding the glass half-full.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

DebetEsse - if I understood the question right, here, as an undergrad, most of my grade - if not all of it - is based on the midterm and final. 80%, at least.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

What's a reasonable portion of the course grade to be determined by the midterm and final for a University course? Does 20% sound good?

I use to have the final count more than the midterm, because I figured the students should have learned something in the meantime. (I think it was something like: final = 20%, midterm = 15%, various papers = 5% each [usually one a week--I taught Freshman comp], a couple of pop quizes = 5% each, final journal = 5%) No one failed for having a lousy day, but no one could coast to an A without doing most of the work.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

We're doing projects, rather than exams, so it's not a single day. There seems to be a culture in the department of a high weight put on participation and working with mentor teachers in local schools.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

You're all Professory, Abi!

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I just finished my syllabi.

Fear my academianinity.....umm....

Next, I set up record-keeping.

Also, I'm on a committee at church. Well, a committee and a task-force.

brillig

I've found a lovely site for folks who like looking at antiques and vintage clothes, etc, 1stdibs.com. I found this lovely dress [link] and there are dozens of other dealers in clothes etc. Hours of browsing, drooling fun.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Not a professor at this point, though I might see if maybe this time I can get my students to call me "Mistress" (I have my Masters)
