[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Thrive to spite them

It's a very yummy idea to steal.

Of course all that chewing is making my jaw hurt. I've been wearing my mouth guard at night, but I've been waking up clenching my teeth anyway and last night I forgot to put it on. I'm going to go take some Alieve and maybe try some heat. I hate TMJ.

And now I have to brag on my Nephew. He's so smart and cute for just turned 1!

Last month Mom taught him the sign for more (although he does his own version) and he's been really good if you ask him "do you want " he'll sign More so it's kinda a yes/more sign. And he'll sign more if he wants you to continue. while I was up there I taught him food. And he was getting good about signing Food and More. And he started saying Nana for banana and MA!MA!MA! sometimes when he signed more.

Mom has been signing Music, which she didn't think he'd get. And yesterday he signed it sponteaously and correctly. And today when she was reading/signing Snuggle Puppy he signed Music. And then more when she was done.

It was so cute to see his little brain working as he figured out food.

What a precious nephew you have, askye! And you are right, he is a smart little guy.

Well, our supper was an ultra thin crust frozen pizza to which we added red and green bell pepper, sliced tomato, leftover roast beef, baby bella mushrooms, pepperoncini, and more cheese. Teh yum. Also, I made salads, with pretty much the same veggies.

Oh. OH. OH!

Daniel just reminded me. We went to the fair today, the next county over. One of the food booths was hawking "Jurassic Corn Dogs".

It's just not as appetizing to me as they seem to think it should be.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

I saw both Inglorious Bastards & GI Joe this weekend. GI Joe was far better flick. Shocked me.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Is teaching babies to sign a thing? I've been reading about various people doing this and thinking that their children have an unfortunate hearing issue that they're just not discussing. But there seem to be rather a lot. I hope everyone's kids' hearing is ok.

Our wings are not tired.

GI Joe was far better flick.

That is a surprise. I was going to take some kids to see it but the reviews scared me away. I should know better.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

We're considering doing it for Ryan. It's not full ASL or anything like that; rather it's just signs for things like "food", "hurt", "more", concepts like that. The advantage is that kids understand a vocabulary before they can vocalise the words. Teaching them some signs lets them start communicating when they're hungry, hurt, bored, tired etc earlier. It has no lasting benefits in proper language development - it's all too simple for that - but it might make things smoother for the kiddie until they can talk too.
