Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
sj, did you tell the parents, "I'll be happy to explain my disability to your sprog, immediately after you explain your lack of sensitivity and tact"? And that's the polite version.
Vortex, I'd give a lot to be a fly on the wall at that meeting. He deserves every coat of paint you strip off him. And you know I love to hear you employ your vocabulary.
I think the main thought that occurred to me catching up was, "Stupid people are stupid." I've found no real reason to revise that opinion.
Todd, I'm exceedingly glad you were able to evacuate successfully. I'm sorry about your neighbors, and I hope the detector retrofit is as simple and efficient as possible.
Loves on Beverly, not that that is news.
The first up close friend that the kids had that was in a wheelchair was Matt next door when he broke his neck. Being kids and knowing Matt they asked all kinds of questions. It was new to Matt too and he was incredibly patient with them.
Just found out my phone answering person won't be in today so I better get my show on the road here.
I have a newly found understanding and respect for the words, "This hurts me more than it hurts you," in regards to punishment.

I usually just walk away, which apparently makes me the rude one.

And yet they never believe it. They probably don't get my resentment when they are grounded since it means I am grounded too. If only I could lock them in their rooms and go out and enjoy myself. Kids!
I KNOW! I had to take away television and a special trip to Target last night. And I NEEDED to go to Target. But, at least it seems to have worked. They now know that when I make a threat, I'll stick to it. They listened MUCH better this morning. Hopefully we've moved past the ick of last night.
Random me photo on my birthday swinging in the trees. [link]
In regard to the fuss about the woman on the children's show - there was a newscaster ... Bree someone? who had a congenital problem that she basically didn't have hands. She made something of a success of herself and the general feedback was approval that she was doing so well. Then she got married and decided to have kids. People were accusing her of being irresponsible, since her kids might be born with the same condition. sigh ....
And in regard to my building's alarm system ... turns out that not only does the first person to notice the fire have to pull an alarm and call 911, but someone on every floor has to pull the alarm on their floor. That, seemingly, is what happened - no one pulled the alarm on my floor until it was almost over. We're having a meeting with building management, the fire chief, and our local councilman. Fun, right?
And because it deserves its very own post - love the picture, Laura! you look so happy!
