Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

On Krypton wouldn't he still be Methodist but much less forcefully? Like, "Yeah, the church has a steeple. What ev "

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Oh, sure, on EARTH Superman's a Methodist.

I blame Ma and Pa Kent.

The same Web site lists the religions of the villains, and the Joker's "religion" is listed as "being Batman's arch-enemy."

I guess for him, it IS.

t edit It's not just a job; it's a *religion.*

“Not dead yet!”

But to be frank, you look like the Tin Man got it on with one of Donald Trump's couches.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Because you've betrayed them all?

No, because I refuse to be boxed in by orthodoxy.

OK, Methodists DO have steeples, right? Isn't there some denomination that traditionally doesn't? This is going to drive me bonkers.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Methodists generally have steeples, yes. No idea which group doesn't. (Well, Unitarian Universalists may or may not have steeples, depending on whether they're in a newer building and perceive steeples to be reinforcing the phallocentric nature of earlier stages of spiritual belief or if they have a nice, historic church wherein the preservationists will CUT YOU if you suggest messing with the architecture. It depends.)

Heh. My parents' synagogue recently moved to a new building. The building that they moved to used to be a church, and it had a steeple. They immediately removed the cross from the top of the steeple, but there was some debate over whether to remove the steeple itself. Ultimately, the "it looks too churchy" people won out over the "it looks cute and old-timey" people.
