Is that a reference to the Bill Cosby routine? If it is, I love that one! That poor mother.

We used to listen to cassettes of his on road trips when we were kids. The only thing we could all agree on.
I saw him in concert last year. He spent the first ten minutes or so improving a great bit with the backstage guy who brought him some water. He really is great in talking to ordinary people and pulling funny stuff out of them!
He's still touring? That would be an awesome thing to see with my folks (and my brothers, although they really should be punished for tossing the vinyls like frisbees out in the back woods when they were wee.)
Yep, he's still out there! He did spend a lot of his scripted stuff on stuff like Viagra and prostate issues, which I think made my dad (sitting next to me) a bit uncomfortable to listen to with his daughter.
My father's had a bit of a personality change lately. Laid off again (I don't know if that was the trigger) but he seems to have chilled out a lot with his usual born-again conservative issues. My family's been making him watch more movies every week (rather than just Fox and Friends) and he's been hiking a lot and remapping the state park across the street.
It's funny what he finds amusing now. He loved Gran Torino, and merely commented "I wish they hadn't used so much foul language". (My brother's were simply besides themselves hooting with laughter at all the racist comments because it reminded them so much of gramps).
My dad still isn't thrilled when he hears me swear. He's always been pretty old-fashioned (part of the reason my parents split up--he didn't like it when she went to work full-time after all of us kids were in school). He was also really strict about us calling our aunts and uncles with the proper terms of address; it wasn't until after the divorce that Mom let us start calling her siblings by the first names alone like our cousins on that side did. In fact, when I was in my mid-20s, he scolded me for calling my great aunt by her first name when I asked my grandma how she was doing.
But, I do love him lots, for all of his reluctance to move into the 1970s, let alone the 21st century.
I love my dad to bits so long as we don't bring up Christianity and how I think it's f***ed up that he prioritizes church functions over valuable family time, especially now that we're all growed up and don't get to see each other as much. (his God sure seems to prefer broken homes over failure to proselytize /issues!)
And with that, I must bid adieu.
Good night!
I have to log off, too.
Sarameg, there are a lot of HVAC options available. You could probably get a dealer to run some numbers for you.
