Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I'm perplexed by Bumpits. In too many cases it's creating a weird extended forehead slope. Like they'd been doing forehead binding. And the TV ad is even worse. Big hair is back?

I'm perplexed by the name.

Well, not as perplexed as I was before I looked at the website. But still a little perplexed why you would pick a name that could just as easily be read "bum pits" as "bump its".

Librarian Warlord

I may need Kat's recipe for sweet potato risotto. My DH might actually eat it and like it, since sweet potatoes are a relatively new favorite of his.

I whiffed on Thursday morning's essays, which is approximately 20% of the exam.

As someone who used to grade (NY) essays, and who has seen that you are able to write a number of sentences in succession that all make sense together . . . I suspect you did better than you think.

The dog got me up early, and she has now gone back to bed - perhaps I should learn from her example.

Holy Cow. NYC Public Schools are CLOSED! Well, I never. Now the scramble is ON!

I read it as "bum pits." Made me wonder if someone was marketing the whole homeless fight club thing.

The actual site looks like they're marketing Amy Winehouse hair. I'll be a little sad if big hair is back. I have dead straight hair that does a chin-length bob pretty easily, and the way that I've been inadvertently fashionable for while has pleased me.

I would like to praise the undersung heroes, electric linemen, who were in my street fixing the hot line at midnight, and very efficiently, too. Seriously, why can't cable companies learn something from the public utilities?

Everything closed here today, still below freezing. It will mostly melt, and then the half-fallen branches and trees will come down. An exciting day, on which it would be nice to own a hard hat.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

SNOW DAY!!!!! I can't believe my office is closed. I'm guessing it's a combination of the Big Boss being stuck out of town and HR being in the suburbs with kids.

And since I went to bed at 9 last night, I'm not even annoyed I woke up early.

Good times!!

Liberal leave. And it's snowing and blowing out there. So fun.

I have no idea how I would find out about work. I have emailed my boss and a coworker.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My boss sent me a text, but the COO also sent an all staff email.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.
