Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I didn't hear it with my right ear until 13k, couldn't hear it at all with my left. But I've always been majorly deaf in the one ear and being around aircraft and high-decibel electronics didn't help much either. I could probably get a disability from the Navy if I really pushed it. It just wouldn't be enough to get any money for it, so I don't bother.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I heard it at 17 and jumped and immediately turned the sound off. What a horrible noise!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'm waiting until I get back to the office to try it.

I bet you all can't wait to see how I do, huh?

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I just started getting tinnitus in the last few weeks.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I can't hear the Teenager sound. And the sound sweep, I can only hear at 13.

Target Alert: They're putting cute Spring stuff in the dollar bins. We got flower headbands today. I'm waiting patiently for the Easter stuff so we can replace our fuzzy bunny ears.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

That one I heard at 16.

Me too, but I couldn't hear the mosquito (teenager) sound on that site at all, whereas I heard it on the other one.

Huh. I hear it right away at 22.

Did you use the top version? The bottom one I heard right away, but not the top one.

I wish that site gave more info on the different possible results.

Uh-oh. Due to a rift in the space-time continuum, our conversation about tinnitus has screwed up Tom's hearing in the past!

Punishingly Intricate

That's a link to a file with a sweeping (descending) tone ranging from 22kHz to 12kHz. I can start to hear it at 17.

hey...that I can hear at 20kHz. But I really couldn't hear the teenager one at all. What up, hearing?

hip deep in pie

OMG, that second file...I heard it right away and it was terrible.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I tried both links on the sweep page. The top one I heard right away at 22, and the bottom one I heard right after the announcer said 22. Both incredibly horrible noises.

My front door is being painted, which means some guy was just party to me playing and replaying noise. Or perhaps he couldn't hear it...
