Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I wish Au Bon Pain would be better about labelling their "bagels." I wanted plain cheese, and ended up with jalapeno cheddar. At least I didn't repeat the apple fiasco of a while back! But still: Meh.

Eat a Muffin Whitey.

I shared this with my last coworker and he took to the concept immediately. I think we need to work harder to promulgate Rio's genius to the masses.

Wow, a lot of posts from last night.

I think that was one of the worst Oscar telecasts I've seen.

--The dresses were atrocious and/or boring.
--I hate that we weren't shown any clips of nominees. While the personal accolades were nice, it would have been nice to actually see what the actors were nominated for.
--Not that Hugh was bad, but this is the Oscars, not the Tonys, I don't need irrelevant music and dance numbers. Billy Crystal did it before you, and better.
--If you want to break up the show, I would have rather seen the best songs separately. I was hoping for a huge Bollywood number for Jai Ho, not that mish-mash medley.
--2008 animation got a whole montage? Seriously?
--The shiny curtain and glossy floor were really distracting.

High point: The best picture montage was brilliantly done, although, again, I would have also liked a plain scene from the movies themselves.

Mixed feelings: Ben Stiller. It was hysterical, but I feel a little bad that it was distracting from the actual category.

I liked the "coming soon" collection of 2009 movie clips that they played over the closing credits. I totally forgot about a lot of those movies until I saw them mentioned--Amelia (Hillary Swank looks amazingly like Earhart!), Public Enemy (Dillinger! Bale! Depression-era Chicago! It should be fun), and a few others that looked great. And a few new shots from HP&HBP, too, which was nice.

Eat a Muffin Whitey.

In this case, what I actually wanted was a cheese roll! Not a muffin.

Yes, that was also a good idea.

Watching a lot of the smaller films during my Oscar blitz, I realized I really need to try and see a lot more of these when they come out rather than on Netflix.

And for anyone that hasn't seen it, I highly recommend Frozen River. Changeling was also much better than I thought it would be and Angelina Jolie was quite good in it.
