Um, well, we listened to aggressively cheerful music sung by people chosen for their ability to dance. Then we ate cookie dough, and talked about boys.

“Not dead yet!”

They showed Heath last year.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

They need to just show the freakin' screen. I can't read when they back out. Really annoying the way they're doing this. Totally distracting.

ITA. I was just yelling at the screen to at least do a closeup when they have the caption, so I know who died, damnit!

And I knew that they were going to finish with Paul Newman--it couldn't be anyone else.

I feel like they showed him at last year's Oscars. Is that right?

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

It's a tough song. And that dress looks pretty firmly corseted, which would make drawing a good breath difficult.

And then add any emotional reaction she could be having... I thought it was well done, but I wish they hadn't kept sweeping in and out on the screen.

hip deep in pie

When are the Oscar producers going to realize that it's not the hosts that are the problem, but all the crap they stuff in the show. The death march should be the only extra.

Wow, it's been that long?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Reese Witherspoon's bodice is awful.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Really hating Reese's dress. The shoulder straps do nothing for her.

I like Reese, but I do not enjoy that dress. At all.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Jai Ho! Eeeeee!

It's probably the award I cared most about, never mind the Best Actor and Director or whatever. That closing dance number for SM is the single most joyous thing I saw on film all year.
