A co-worker here at my full-time job works part-time at the local Jo-Ann Fabrics, and she was telling me that their sales are way up--no surprise, with this economy. I did ask her if they had more people signing up for their classes, but she didn't know for sure. I'm guessing more people are interested in learning to sew than were ten years ago.

Tomorrow: Birthday party for my niece and nephew.
Tonight: I just found out my niece wants an UglyDoll, so I have to run to Kid Robot and get one.
Sunday: Nothing
Monday: Nothing²!
I had to make a ham and grilled cheese sandwich for lunch.
Tonight: Boskone, tomorrow: 8 hours of programming class, then Boskone. And Sunday: Boskone.
I'm not sure what happens Monday, except that I DO have class on Monday night.
I found some Wonder Woman printed flannelette on a clearance table at my local fabric store for $1.99/metre, so I bought 7 metres. My friend is WW obsessed, so I knew I had to make them for her. She doesn't know about them, so it will be a total surprise.
That's fantastic!

Sewing from scratch is not cheaper than buying cheap clothes, though, even if you don't take your time into account. For example, I just got clearance pajamas for like $6.
OK, by the skin of my teeth I met a stupid deadline I kept forgetting about. Technically, the deadline is Sunday, but yeah, no thanks. I sent out the thing I promised people "this afternoon" by like 12:30. I got half of my department out of a long and boring meeting that everyone didn't need to be in. I am officially done!
Done is good, Jesse.
I was all excited to leave early and my boss actually did leave early, but then I remembered that mac is brought in to me on Fridays, so I couldn't leave anyway. I did the remainder of my 2008 medical and childcare reimburseables. Looks like I was off childcare by $72, but on medical I under contributed, so I will max that one out.
I'm also really grumpy and don't really know why. I am generally dissatisfied with everything.
My 24 year old devoutly religious half-brother and the parents of one my daughter's schoolmates are arguing about the effectiveness of abstinence-based sex education in comments to my Facebook status.
Gah.
Oh, flea. How fun for you.
What on earth is your status?
