Mal: Then I call it a win. What's the problem? Inara: Should I start with the part where you're stranded in the middle of nowhere, or the part where you have no clothes?

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

The President is even hotter when he's ticked off, isn't he?

Mmmmmmm, intense foaminess!

Never been stung.

I've been stung a couple of times. Mom was allergic to bee stings, so the first time I wondered if I was gong to die. The next time I just hated on yellow jackets a little bit more.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I've only been stung once, by a bee.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I've been stung once by a bee and that's it. It put me right off bees, though, I tell you what! I had this notion that they won't sting you if you don't bother them (probably mostly true), but the way I implemented that was by completely freezing any time I saw a bee, until it flew away. I still have to remind myself that I don't actually have to do that.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I did the completely freezing thing, too. I was stung by a bee at age five when one accidentally got caught in my sweater and I panicked.

I do not do grates, either. I can barely walk across a bridge with a grate. Solid, please.

hip deep in pie

I have been stung twice by wasps. Once it was between my body and my arm, and when I put my arm down, it stung me. The other time, I was sitting in a field of clover that was being swarmed and got stung. It wasn't a big deal either time, and I am not bothered by bees/wasps at all. I usually just ignore them until they go away.

I don't really do nature, much. The one time I was stung was by a sweat bee, at a funeral once. ...now I can't remember WHOSE funeral. I feel like it might've been my grandfather's, except I also feel like I was older (13?), so maybe it was a great aunt or uncle's...there were a number of those, at one point (both my grandmother and grandfather had like, six brothers and sisters, who were married, and they all started dying off around the same time...)

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oh for fuck's sake, WaPo. Seriously, with all the shit going on and everything Obama's talking about and you're using your question to ask about A-Rod?

ETA: Also, sweat bees?

JenP - Feb 09, 2009 3:52:39 pm PST #5825 of 30000

Yeah, what's a sweat bee?

JenP - Feb 09, 2009 3:59:25 pm PST #5826 of 30000

Eight years! Eight years! (You know you wanted to say it, man.)

Civility and rational argument. What a concept. Er, I do wish you the best with that.
