Scola, you MUST go to Secret Science Club!!! That's awesome!

The rice is sushi isn't as bad as people think, *from a glycemic standpoint.* (For people who flee carbs, well, then yeah, you're fucked.) But the vinegar that's used in sushi rice makes it lower on the glycemic index than non-sushi white rice (yes, that's despite the fact that sushi rice has sugar in it; go figure).

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I can't quite tell if that's the right equation, but (x-72) + 2 is just x-70.

Good to know! I don't know from the food science but sushi just seems to me like a pretty healthy kind of food. Plus delicious! And I've been craving it all week. But I have a great big, also delicious, salad for lunch so I'll have to get it another day.

Yeah, I know what I need to do- figure out what (x-72)+2 is and then divide that by 72 to get the 15%, but I don't know how to make everything play nice together so I can do that.

“Not dead yet!”

Much better than working out for an hour and craving hot fudge sundaes.

Well, wouldn't have said no to that either, but I resisted. Went with spicy sushi and some garlic pretzel chips to counter the wasabi burn. Am now contentedly stuffed.

Satisfied the sweet craving with a small handful of the mint M&Ms.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Also, sushi is EXTREMELY DELICIOUS and should be consumed whenever possible.

That is so true, it's written on my soul.

information libertarian

I don't like sushi. I like California rolls okay, but even those tend to come in such big pieces I can't eat them happily. I need littler bites. Mini-sushi.

Ugh. See, this is how bad I am at math, I don't even know how to explain it so that it's understandable.

I'm doing a rate of return problem: P1= the price of stock one year from now (which is x here), P0= the price of stock now, (which is 72) and the rate of return also includes the dividend, which is D1 (or 2 in this example). So the rate of return equation is (P1-P0)+D1= Rate of return.

So once I figure out what (x-72)+2 is, let's call that y, I need to solve for y, which is y divided by 72 which produces the rate of return which is 15%.
