Calli, I am so sorry for your loss, honey.
Calli, I'm so sorry. Strength to you and your family.
We called it a suicide in suburban Chicago. The best were the ones at the drugstore, which put in a squirt of every syrup (cherry, lime, lemon, cola) and then filled the glass with seltzer. The truly daring, of which I was one, had them add a squirt of chocolate syrup.
I'm looking for somewhere to stay for a group trip to Chicago. We won't have a vehicle, so it has to be public-transit-friendly.
I don't know if it's still under construction, but the blue line to O'Hare was a bit of a mess.
I went to a work-related talk last night. It was from 7-9, with cheese and crackers after. Am I crazy, or is that no good for working people??
Were people coming from multiple locations? If so, that's probably the earliest plausible start time.
That GOP list has a lot of things that will save money long-term. They need calendars that go beyond the next election.
I have 3 boxes of Luna bars that are on that recall list. Should I assume the open box is safe and return the two unopened boxes?
In Southern Wisconsin, a little of everything was a Zombie.
Half lemonade, half iced tea is an Arnold Palmer. Except to Hubs, who calls it an Arnold Ziffel.
Black and Tan is a color combination I don't wear.
Calli, I'm so sorry.

black and tan used for a drink made of porter and ale: 1889
Interesting, since Guinness is stout.
t edit Stout being what I, personally, associate with a half and half/black and tan; my own association doesn't mean that the rest of the world agrees with me.
t edit again Perhaps Guinness just became the most popular of the "black" part of the drink through marketing or whatnot, and shoved aside porter.

The company in question is in Georgia, so I've been following it pretty closely. It sound like they've had some very poor manufacturing practices for some time, so I'd be pretty leery of anything on the FDA lists. The company's major product is a mashed peanut product used in making peanut butter baked goods.
People are even calling for the resignation of Tommy Irvin, who's been agriculture commissioner since 1969. He's a fossil who's kept this state years behind in food safety and organic standards, and if this finally takes him out, it will be one good thing.
On the other hand, the number of people saying they're giving up all peanut products could be disastrous for the state.
Steph, Wikipedia suggests that stout was developed from porter, which I had no idea: [link]
And I just spent 5 minutes crying at my desk over Calli's father. Whom I never met. But I know how much she loved him.
