It's wonderful that he was so loved and appreciated by the community
It was a massive turnout. He was only fifty, and he was involved with baseball, football, wrestling, karate and volunteering at the schools. Just a guy of inexhaustible good cheer and very generous with his time and energy.

I'm pretty sure my college roommate (Chip) is hoarse from shouting right now. In fact, I'm pretty sure he's at the game with his son.

Gah, David, that must be incredibly hard for everyone, especially the family.
The good part for his son, Alex, is that he's got lots of other parents that will be looking after him with all his various sports. But obviously it won't be the same for him at home.
