You got all kinds of learnin' and you made me look the fool without tryin', and yet here I am with a gun to your head. That's 'cause I got people with me. People who trust each other, who do for each other, and ain't always lookin' for the advantage.

I just put a veggie slow cooker cookbook on hold at the library, so we shall see.

ETA: That's the one!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I like Fresh From the Vegetarian Slow Cooker. There's another, 125 Best Vegetarian Slow Cooker Recipes, that I don't like as much.

Our wings are not tired.

Thanks guys! Your posts are marked.

ETA: Um, that book looked so good that I went ahead and ordered it. I have been wanting a slow cooker for a long time but was unsure how it would fit in with my diet. Looks great!

Our wings are not tired.

My sister got me a huge cookbook to go with, but the recipes are mostly of the condensed soup, taco seasoning, and Velveeta variety.

I've noticed this with a lot of slow cooker recipes. If you are slow cooking why use quick instant cook type stuff?

eta: not that condensed soup and Velveeta aren't yummy, but to slow cook?

Beans! OK, other people have better answers, I am sure.

My parents are so spoiled. They have had a housecleaner for a decade who loves to cook traditional mexican food for them. Every time they've protested her doing extra work, she guilts them that they are depriving her of cooking and the smell of the cooking. (They've tried to pay her more when she does; she just goes and buys groceries for them with the money.) She's always raiding their pantry and making various flavors of beans for them. And enchiladas and brisket and mmmm... She even leaves grocery list requests so she can cook for them as she cleans. She makes sure their slowcooker gets use. Plus, she's charmed even the most vacuum-fearful cat. Big win in my family.

(As much as I'd LOVE to have someone do my meals, I think it'd freak me out to have her do that for me. I get why she does it, it is now a business relationship crossed over into friendship and possibly a bit of caretaking, but it crosses comfort lines for me.)

My housemate and I decided that the epitome of this cookbook was the "recipe" for mint tea that cooked for two hours (!?!) and used tea bags, water, and 2 drops mint extract. I kid you not.

Realistically, I can get away with three weeks, msbelle. I've gone longer with French manicure since the pink is so close to my nail bed color - it's harder to notice casually. With color, though, it starts to look pretty rough after three weeks. Not that that stops me sometimes.

Um, I don't do fills because I'm doing it myself with full plastics from Tarjay, I just trash 'em and start over roughly about every 3 weeks. That's the point where the fake is starting to get above the cuticle and lifting is an issue. So I may be no help. I used to try to do my own fills at that point, but got really lazy. Easier to just redo for me, but I don't go to a manicure place.
