I'm not sure how old he is, but I heard him use the word 'newfangled' one time, so he's gotta be pretty far gone.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Oh, but when one of us does get knocked up does the Catholic institution for which one works give maternity leave?

Well there's your first problem - working outside the home in the first place!

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Obama settles into a more informal White House.

The main thing that story showed was what a dick Bush was.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Barack The President vs. Barack The Elephant

The night before President Barack Obama’s inauguration, most of the world was getting a good night’s sleep in preparation for a day of heavy celebratory drinking. But things were not so calm at the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Center for Elephant Conservation, because on January 19, they welcomed in the birth of a healthy male Asian elephant, who they named Barack in honor of our 44th President. As our tipster Adam writes in “Ringling Bros. names an elephant calf Barack, thus creating a hybrid democrat/republican animal that will lead us to zoopolitical salvation.”

We realize this might be confusing to some of you: Both our President and a brand new baby elephant sharing the same name. So to help stave off that confusion, BWE.tv has created this handy comparison guide for you (plus some bonus pics after the cut.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My poor coworker just sent out an all-staff email announcing that someone will be "severing" as something instead of "serving." Oops.

Coding and Sleeping

Hopefully it was just an error, might want to make sure there are no axes lying about the office just in case.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Speaking of medieval weaponry, has the story of Google street view capturing a LARP battle made the rounds here?

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

We managed to leave the pot of soup I made on the counter overnight.

I'd totally eat it. But I also have been known to eat unfridged tamales that sat on my desk overnight. I figure I'm creating a stronger immunity system?

without his suit jacket

Also!! How much do I love our president? I mean, didn't Bartlet not wear a suit jacket on occasion? And yes, I'm aware he's fictitious but still....

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

"He's from Hawaii, O.K.?" said Obama's senior adviser, David Axelrod, who occupies the small but strategically located office next door to his boss. "He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there."

A man after my own heart! It's a really good way to keep people in your office no longer than they need to be there, too.

Art Crawl!!!

Yes, that article makes Obama seem even better and Bush seem even more of an ass. (Who knew that was possible?)

Also, Barack the Elephant is terribly cute - and who doesn't feel "tramply" sometimes?
