My company's new policy is that the office is closed if B'more City schools are closed. It makes listening to the school closings exciting again!

One third of all High Fructose Corn Syrup is contaminated with Mercury.
Who the hell manufactures this stuff, Pentex?
In other news, Sarah Chalke looks ten times cuter in the restrained makeup that passes for "no makeup" on TV.
Oooh, lisah, you got screwed today! (Just about everyone but City schools was closed.)
My work is determined by the head of facilities. Who has 4WD. Which I point out to him everytime I slide on our slalom of a road on a fucking liberal leave day. I loved pointing that out to him the day there were 3 totalling accidents and a high level person fell on the steps and blew her knee. We haven't had a day like that since, so we'll see how he does. He's one of those macho bastards. Jerk wasn't inclined to close the place when we lost a/c and were having brownouts and were straining the UPS. The director shut us down.

Well, I think they may have just figured out the policy today. Besides it wasn't that bad out there and I did actually have work to do that I couldn't have done at home. I've got my fingers crossed for tomorrow, though! And, although I have once again failed to buy salt, my neighbor had a bag and she lent me a cup so my Danger Steps are ice free.
much like the solved (or IS it?) toy boat fetish mystery.
Wait, it was solved?!?!?! HOW DID I MISS THIS?? I have SO been talking the toy boat mystery up to some friends and now I find out it's been SOLVED?!?! Hook me up here, people!
Me, too. The Boy is obsessed with it, and if he finds out I missed the answer by skipping and skimming, he'll kill me.
Yeah, this AM wasn't too bad unless you were walking on a rubber coated parking lot in slick shoes (me at the dentist's.) I switched to treaded shoes I'd brought with.
Or if you were the SUV who met with the snowplow on Coldspring.
Didn't we decide it had to be the battery operated... boats? Or at least wind-up.
I think my office might close with the schools, but they never close. Not that we've had more than a couple of inches at a time yet this winter.
In the decade+ I've been here, we've closed for brown-outs, a hurricane and a couple of HUGE snowfalls, like the Presidents' day one. And 9/11, they sent everyone home, most likely figuring out no one was doing any work anywho.
I think we concluded it was something around playing with them in the tub and being a little boy again? But I don't know that that was based on anything but being the least cringe-making (not to mention physically plausible) option we could come up with.
