My soup (lentils, sausage, fennel) won't be ready for another half hour, and now I'm thinking I should have just made a box of mac'n'cheese. 'Cause you know what lentil soup doesn't have in it? CHEESE!

EXACTLY! My planned dish was a cheeseless quinoa stew. bullshit! Although I do love a lentil sausage soup. I may have some in the freezer actually. How long do those types of things last anyway? Frozen soup or chili type things in tupperware?

Sleet has started. I rescheduled my vet appt to Friday and I'm hoping work is closed if it is bad. About to do something sphincter clenching that I'm not 100% about at work. So the bureaucrazy at UAB is so bad that despite getting all his paperwork in back in December, my brother has not yet gotten a paycheck. And may not for another month. And the insurance enrollment hasn't processed. The fuck? I'd be littering the streets with bodies. For all I know, he may be running a scorched earth campaign, but still. That's nuts. And evil to do to a new, poor postdoc.
