Jayne: Here's a little concept I been workin' on. Why don't we shoot her first? Wash: It is her turn.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Del Potro. After Safina has her match. I'm so sad that Marat is retiring this year. Even though he never won up to his potential he was fun (if heartbreaking at times) to watch. One can only hope he takes up a career in semi-nude modelling.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Oh, shrift. I'm so sorry.

Now tagless for your comfort.

If Mona's part doxie, with those short legs, she'll look like she's wearing Hammer pants. I think that's the cutest trick, ever.

Liv was wide awake at 5 am. It's too cold (-15) and dark to be awake. She doesn't understand this concept.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Leifur decided to wake me up about 10 minutes before my alarm by snuggling up on my arm and shoulder, nuzzling and purring in my ear.

That's way better than waking up to NPR chatter.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

This morning I dreamed that my alarm was going off, and it would not turn off! I pressed all the buttons, I unplugged it, I stuffed it under pillows, I took the batteries out, I even disassembled the thing, and it would not turn off! The neighbors were going to be furious!

Finally I woke all the way up and turned it off for real.

I had a fun but tiring weekend. Sunday I toured north and eventually met up with Laura and her family. Monday I drove down to Key Largo (where I had a great time on the glass-bottomed boat tour out of John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park) and then on to Key West (got there in time to take some pictures at the Southernmost Point in the contiguous U.S., then made it to Mallory Square in time to watch the sunset with the crowd) and back.

Now off to work, so I can get some rest.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Ooh, pretty. And WARM, which I could really use this morning.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ugh, shrift. Having your place broken into is really unsettling.

And just catching up with shrift's awful news, which I've had happen to me (not recently, but it kind of stays in your memory).

hip deep in pie

People are talking around me. Why won't they shut up?
