They are playing better, but this kid is OBSESSED with our cats and it kinda tormenting them.

I have filed piles of papers and bills and even added some organization to the files. I also cleaned them out and shredded a big shopping bag full. I had hope to move some furniture in my bedroom around, but I think I need to clear out some more stuff before I start moving things. If I started now I think I'd only get about halfway done and nothing is worse than a half done job with stuff all over the place.

Despite waking up late this morning (neighbor's noisy friends were at it again), I have:

  • scrubbed my tub and shower
  • scrubbed my toilet
  • scrubbed my bathroom sink
  • hung up two loads of laundry and started another one
  • changed out my shower curtain
  • changed my sheets
  • taken out the trash
  • swept my floors (they need mopping, but I got them halfway presentable)
  • straightened up my desk and various tables previously covered with mail and other papers
  • bought groceries

I can crash now, right?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, me too, msbelle. I just found a local place that will accept magazine type stuff for recycling, and I just happen to have this massive empty box, so I think I'm going to get together a heap of my Catalogs O' Death from this past holiday season.

I think that's going to have to be the theme of my weekend, organization. I redid the office closet because I got my paper goods order in (2000 newsletter templates, 2000 letterhead, 2000 envelopes) and had to fit it all in. But I consolidated, so I actually ended up with more space even with those three big boxes in there.

But my whole house needs that, I think. Particularly the media room.

Unfortunately for my good intentions, I just went to the library today and it's sunny after lots of overcast rainy days, and all I want to do is lounge around in the sunroom and read books.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Wow, Matt, your day was more productive than mine, and I worked at the theatre. I finished patterns for 2 dresses, and almost finished the jacket.

I think I mentioned that my boss's boss's (the associate dean) 17 year old daughter is volunteering to help me. She is really sweet, very immature and that mixture of full of herslef and unsure that people her age are. I feel like I am navigating a minefield, though. Her mom wants her to come to the theatre because she doesn't always fit in well at school, and she wants to be a fashion designer, and I can both hone her skills, offer her some discipline and provide a safe arena. It is like navigating a mine field for me, as I am much more liberal than the family. The daughter is mixed race, but in an mostly white, very priviledged and religious environment. environment, and asks questions about politics and homosexuality and other stuff. I don't want to turn my big boss's daughter into a socialist or something! Also, she has crush on my assistant, who is male and gay. Poor thing-- I have so been there!

I also cleaned my George Foreman grill, kitchen sink, and one countertop while waiting for my salmon to roast. Came this close to spritzing my stovetop with Fantastik before realizing I'm not sure how hot the stove elements get with the oven running at high temp.

I think I've gone from cleaning for appearances' sake to not knowing what to do with myself if I'm not scrubbing something. (Still not crazed enough to start mopping though.)

I have groomed the dog and gone to see Milk. And now I have a beef stew cooking on the stove. That's enough for a rainy Saturday, right?
