This weekend, I am working thirteen to fourteen hour days, possibly without a meal break of some kind. Then I will hopefully get one day off on Monday, before diving back in again. Ah, life in the theater.

President Barack Obama on Friday will lift restrictions on U.S. government funding for groups that provide abortion services or counseling abroad, reversing a policy of his Republican predecessor George W. Bush, an administration official said.
Wow. So I guess the plan is to fix everything that's wrong with the world in the first 100 days and spend the rest of his term playing basketball in the White House gym?
That's a fine plan, and I am fully in support of it. No one could deserve a good game more if he accomplished all that. ::nods::
Oh President, My President.

Yes!
In other news, today just descended into the realm of stupid for me, and I'm sad to say my dad is the reason. I called the hospital to check in on him. A stranger picked up the phone in his room. The stranger'd never heard of him. After 30 or so minutes on hold, I learned that Dad had been transferred to a skilled nursing facility and told the staff to specifically NOT call his family, because he didn't want to bother us.
Yeah, Dad. Discovering my extremely ill father has disappeared from the hospital to god knows where doesn't bother me at all. @_@

Well, I think the economy, education, and healthcare will give him plenty to work on the next 4 years. But it is nice to see that righting the blatant wrongs of the previous administration is getting immediate priority.
In other news, oh, joy.

The Senate's Web site shows it passed yesterday, 61-36.
Minor changes in the Senate mean it has to go back before the House before Obama can sign it, but that was presented as a sure thing.
