Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

It's Black Hat. He's a recurring character.

But he's not supposed to represent any real person, is he?

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

But he's not supposed to represent any real person, is he?

No, just your basic embodiment of evil.

My speedometer didn't work at all on my commute. It always kicks it at some point. I wonder if it finally gave up. Hmmm... Bad VSS (vehicle speed sensor)?, Loose Wiring?, Bad speedometer head? I don't know if a bad VSS will throw a code or not. I wish there was a way to tell. If I had cruise control I could check the VSS, but I don't.

Gud, is your car 1996 or later? Because if so, it should be easy to read the OBD-2 code (if you have a laptop and the right adapter).

Shit, the VSS should throw a code. There goes the easy and cheap fix.

It's a 1994. But I don't have a check engine light going off, so presumably it's not throwing any codes.

Are you sure the speedometer isn't completely mechanical? (If it is purely mechanical, it should connect to the transmission, right?)

Thankfully no one in my family except my parents ever needs money from me, and them I can just give it to rather than expecting repayment without it bothering me. (Though I do wish they would do more research/test runs of big purchases before I lay out the cash for them. Everything wheelchair-related that I've spent lots of $ on, they've ended up not using and going back to whatever old version they were using before.)

I'm pretty sure that this generation of civic is an electrical speedo. I think '91 (previous generation) was the last with a mechanical one.
